Best Tires for the Renault Cilo 1.2 Extreme

I have those tires on my renault clio for almost 2 years and I would only recommend them to people that will never drive their car even on 4/10 of its potential. If you ever take a turn with even 10kmh above the "leisure driving" speed, then you'll end up with a BadYear.. I will start with the good points about this tire: - On leisure drives they are ok and not noisy at-all (at least on the size I use) also no squeals when hot, - Pretty much great fuel consumption, i get around 6 l/100km in Athens-Greece which is a big achievement in our jungle roads, - Pretty much no tire wear on my time with them, - On wet roads they have ok handling, they don't feel dangerous when driving below 4/10. Huge exclamation mark, all the above points apply ONLY when driving cautiously and NEVER drive spiritedly. The points I wish I knew before picking them up: - ZERO feel of how the car will react next. One moment it grips, the next it snaps. To this point contributes the no noise "good" point from above. No squeaks, no squeals, no nothing. One moment you drive a car with four wheels the next you are an ice skater without skates. - No steering feel. Take a turn at 6/10 of the car's capabilities it starts with some steering feel, progresses to feeling that you tip-toe on the sidewalls of the tire and concludes to NoYear, i guess. - Terrible break performance on hot climates with scorching asphalt. This point doesn't even apply when you drive spiritedly. I specifically remember the nightmare having to do a completely normal stop from 15kmh in a slight downhill and the ABS engaged fully. It could be the world's slowest slight tap on front car's bumper. Very dangerous. - ZERO fun to be had. Between tip-toeing on the sidewalls and counting your RemainingYears this tires such every bit of fun out of driving. My review comes from a 30ish person's point of view without the road racing gin in my dna. Previous tires were 4 year old Pirelli Cinturato P1 Verde, same dimension, from a completely different dimension. Even with disintegrating sidewalls the handling and feel was leagues better. I would say those 4 year old tires where substantially safer-feeling than the (then) brand new GoodYear EfficientNoGrip. So (atleast on my tire size) only consider them if you will: - never drive spiritedly, - never break hard on emergencies, - never try to avoid anything in a straight line. They are perfect: - for driving in the worlds straightest line, - consuming as low fuel as possible, - enjoying jelly very much - having no regard for your own and others around you lives. In any other case, don't be me and avoid them at all cost.

I have bought 4 tires, yh 12 since 3years, max 30000kms, since 1year and half : one tire has changed of shape(déformé) : I have changed it with another(goodyear) , and today, the second, his shape become irregular , then exploded on highway, autoroad..and would be changed, while driving they are good, except fuel consumption, even during wet roads........but after 3years 2 tires on 4 are definetely damaged , in addition to danger to explode on road: I advise you to buy other tires, pay more, for more quality and security

I've been driving on budget tires for 10 years. 2 years ago, I decided to make a change and bought these. 2 years now, one is with 2mm thread and the other three were between 3 to 4.5mm. So with conservative driving and good alignments, they do last. In fact, if it wasn't for the 2 heavily broken ball joints, these tires could have lasted 40'000 miles. (Yes, I driven on 2 broken ball joints for 10,000 miles, wear out the front heavily, then I rotate the tires around.)

In terms of dry and wet grip. They were good, but I just somehow felt wet is slightly better than dry. Handling? I rarely test the limit of them, so I can't say. Comfort? Good initially, 2 years now, average I would say, since no tires can not resist ageing no matter their brands.

Would I buy again? Depends on the price. I mean, I drives a lot (15'000 miles town driving per year). Sure grips are important, but wear and tear is what I valued the most. At its current price (£81.56), I would rather get Michelin Energy Saver Plus (£83.99).

These tires were on a set of Alloys I purchased, I was a little worried as I've never heard of them but they are much better than the ones which I replaced (Avons with 3-4mm tread on the front and Dunlops 4-5mm on the back), they are slightly wider than the ones they replaced so this may be part of the reason. Car certainly feels better into corners, can't go wrong if you are on a tight budget.

Bought 3 of these for my car at a steal (£129 fitted with valve and balancing), i was expecting much but the tires are actually very good. i've been using them for about 4000 miles now and they still have plenty of tread on them.

Got these for my renault clio dynamique 12. 16v which required R15's. Had these on a mitsubishi charisma years ago and I remembered they were good. Glad I bought these for the Clio!! Brialliant tires. Its a premium brand, made in france, and you can feel the difference between these and a lesser quality branded tire on the road. Comfort level is higher and it has great grip in dry and wet. ABS braking also better now.
Cant comment on wear, only done 100miles. Im sure they'll be terrible in snow but then again it is a summer tire. Just get some winter tire spray from halfords, job done.

Good tire, low road noise and fantastic grip in the dry. Only lasted 19000 miles though.

Rode them for 5000km by now in a Clio II 1.2 60hp. Before them i had bridgestone b391, and in comparison this ep150 are much less grippy, specially in the wet. Wouldn't buy again.

Second time I have bought a second hand car with Sunny tire. Ok in the dry but as soon as it wet they slip slide all over the place, good to make the heart rate go faster. Taken off & thrown away again (thats four sunnys in the bin)

I bought a full set of these amazing tires last September, I had covered around 25000 miles on the set - 20000 on front, 25000 on rear, and remember all the ice and snow, well these tires gripped quite well & I believe they have worn very very well! Before these I had a set of Michelin energy fuel saving tires on which were reasonable. I unfortunately have had to replace my proxies now and have gone with the continental/barum bravuis 2, which are a very good contender in regard to grip, wear, feedback, noise level and progressiveness. I will buy a new set of proxies after I have worn my current set and would definitely reccomend these tires for cars up to 200bhp
