Volkswagen Transporter Tire Review Highlights
Tires seem ok for daily use. Used recently in the aftermath of heavy snow which has now compacted down. Felt very confident in these conditions. This was on my VW Transporter van.

Had a set for 2 months now on my VW T28 Transporter. This in the OE size of 215/65 R16. They replaced a set of Hankook R28 - a commercial (C rated) tire so that's what I will compare them to.
The Continetal are more comfortable in that they handle both small surface imperfections and larger pot holes far better than the Hankooks did. Being 102 load rated and presumably a slightly softer compound to allow grip in colder temperatures (the R28s were 104 rated summer tires), this is no surprise. However it does seem to equate to less road noise too - despite the R28 being rated as 69db (nice) and the Conti 102db I am pleased with the reduction in cabin noise.
In terms of driving dynamics the Contis feel slightly more 'wooly' and just different. It's not worrying in any way but the stiffer R28s were lazer focused, very precise and confidence inspiring. The Contis do tend to waft along and require more correctional inputs on the steering wheel - assume the softness is part of this and perhaps they track tramlines in the road more. Again, not a worry as I am aware they still have plenty of grip, it's just different. I think this equates to a more comfortable experience for passengers overall but for the driver it's less clear cut - the better ride quality and reduced noise of the Contis is slightly offset by having to adjust the steering more often, not by a huge amount though.
Have driven in the dry and wet and at 2 degrees centigrade all without any concerns - they just work well.
Yet to test on snow or Ice but we don't get that in the midlands every year so who knows.
When driving on narrow country lanes where tractors have pulled the grass verge onto the carriageway and you have to drive on that muddy edge to fit past oncoming traffic the Contis do still have a little skid under hard breaking. Had wondered if an all season would be better at this 'mud on road' situation thatn a summer tire but I'd say not. Summer tires will always win for dry and wet handling, all season just reduces chance of getting stuck in snow and slush a bit more.
If I was going for all season again I would happily buy the Continental ASC2 again. Very comfortable and competent tire. I might just go to a premium summer touring tire next time though - always served me well before - I never got stuck on campfields and they coped with farm tracks etc. Having said that I wouldn't buy the R28s again.

Decent, comfortable tires for a loaded campervan. The tires have lasted about 17-20k miles, which is amazingly good for a VW transporter. They are quiet, surefooted and not in the least noisy.

They were fitted to my coach converted VW T6 on collection, and lasted 20,000 and four and a half years before really bad wear and splitting on tires walls. They are a budget tire and you get what you pay for. I've replaced them with Royal Black Royal Explorer II's, again a budget tire but I only do 4,500 miles a year.

Worst tires i've ever had on my vw transporter 4x4. Very harsh ride no matter what i tried with tire pressures. Extremely noisy tires that gets worse as the tires wear. Although the tire wear is very good. That's the only positive thing i can say about them. I took them off before they were worn out and it was like a different van. Don't buy these tires you WILL be disappointed.

Fitted 4 of these to my VW Caravelle. I needed a load rating of at least 101. These were 102’s so no problem. All was well for about 6k miles and then very similar to another review on same vehicle type, started to get a vibration similar to unbalanced wheel. Very difficult to see when fitted but inner side wall just full of bubbles. 3 of the 4 tires went like this. Would not recommend for VW Transporter based on my experience

Had these on a VW T5 Sportline Transporter 174bhp. Not driven hard.
The tires were quite noisy, and wear has not been exceptional, however, they have cracked all around the outer edges, inner and outer, on all 4 tires.
Recommended to me by a trusted tire dealer that I have used for years, and no reason to disbelieve them.

Installed on an always fully laden LWB VW T6 Transporter with lowered uprated suspension.
I am stunned at how well they have lasted and only one puncture and that was a nail, the van is driven off road onsite during the day. I use these rims and tires between March and October and then switch to winter rims and tires.
Only slight weakness is during torrential rain, but that probably says more about me than the tires; I will certainly buy again shortly.

Started having an issue with judder from nearside front on a long trip to South coast, thought I had wheel balance issue.
Took it into a local garage on my return only to find huge bulges on the inside edge of tire, could have been nasty at 70mph plus!!!
Bought this VW Transporter with these crappy Powertrac Cityracing tires from a V.W. dealership in Leeds which I am a little surprised about.
Having tires changed immediately and will try sending an invoice to the V.W. dealership to cover the cost.
Took it into a local garage on my return only to find huge bulges on the inside edge of tire, could have been nasty at 70mph plus!!!

I wanted to try cheap tires once and find out the difference between the previous ones that belong to a higher price class (Bridgestone Turanza ER300). I drive a passenger van VW Transporter T6, mostly three people ride in the vehicle. The van is driven mostly on the highway at a speed of 100-120km/h (60-75mph). A few times I drove a little faster in the rain through corners and the car held the road as it should. I bought the tires in May and have done 25,000km (15,500miles) to date. The tire still has a 5mm profile, consumption compared to the Bridgestone Turanza is 0.3 liters per 100km higher. After these kilometers, the tire still behaves well. To summarize: definitely a good purchase for people who don't go wild on the roads and I recommend it myself.

Ignore all the people on here talking as if you have to put Pirelli’s on every vehicle known to man. Your tire choice is relative to your individual circumstances; vehicle type, speed, usage, type etc. I’ve had 4 of these fitted to my VW Transporter Kombi. I like most are looking for a decent enough tire that doesn’t break the bank.
Let me tell you that these don’t disappoint. First of all these things are QUIET. Seriously on a T28 running 255/40/20 I would expect some road nice, but these are so quiet it was pleasantly surprising. Dry grip is fine, no issues on windy country roads razzing around in the van. Not had a very wet day to test yet but from the 2022 and 2023 tests I’m not expecting issues.
Don’t hesitate buying these.

Great tire for comfort and ride but complete rubbish for wear - I got less than 25,000km out of a set and will not go there again at the price
