Best Tires for the SEAT Ibiza FR TDi

Absolute top for dry grip and handling, but wear... Inner edge worn after 16k km, it is also a thing of too much negative camber I run on, but overall, they are at 60% after 16 000 km.. N7000 were better I would say.

A good mid range tire, bought for my Ibiza TDI FR with 200bhp and the grip is good in both dry and wet. However when pushed its hard to find the moment of progressive grip loss, you either have lots of grip or none. Wear is acceptable to very good, they have lasted 10k on the fronts so far and have 4mm left so id expect another 5k before being replaced. Main reason i bought these was to reduce tire noise which admittedly did help compared to Bridgestones, but im have just found quieter ones with theHankook ventus prime and trying those next.

I've done moderate power diesel hatchbacks for a while. I know how hard it is to find decent tire for this type of a car, not going crazy price wise.

Running those tires on Ibiza Fr TDI with upped power and torque is excellent. Light FWD car with more than 350Nm of torque and short chassis, gives a good test for any tire.
Barum 3HM give almost unchanged strong grip in wet and dry. Hard to push them past the limit and you can gradually feel it right before they go. They wear very slowly and once balanced at fitting just starting to go off, after a lot of uneven roads and pot holes. Road noise is normal, nothing special. Overall Best price-quality tire you can get in low profile 16s for less than £65/tire fitted (East Midlands area, thanks National Tires).

Satisfactory. Got this set as I had to replace a whole set for a used hot hatch I bought. Light fast hatchback cars are not very well insulated so the tire noise gets through. These tires are loud.

Performance is good and I recommend these on more heavier well insulated cars (Volvo, BMW or Merc). I will be buying a little more expensive but very quiet set of Vredersteins for my car next time. But looking at the way this set is wearing its going to be a long way away.

Fantastic tire, excellent grip, great feedback and pretty quiet. Far better than the Continental Premium Contacts they replaced, which made the car a bit numb. These really bring the car to life and and massively improve confidence and momentum in the bends. Fuel economy is also good so far, as is wear. Perfect for keen drivers in quick FWD cars.

not bad for a budget tire but have other cheapest tires that perform better. ex HIFLY HF805 really good cheap tire.

I hated this tires!!!

Previously I had 4 Potenza RE050A (came with the car when was new), and despite they were not the best in terms of confort, they were pretty great in terms of handling and putting the power down on the tarmac.

In the wet they were like a 5/10, but in the dry they were wonderful (8/10 no problem).

I also had Continental PremiumContact2, I know they were not a sports tire, but I also liked them, even more than the Bridgestone. They were better in confort, equal or better in the wet and a little worse in the dry.

In terms of wear the Contis were worse than the Bridgestones.


But know, talking about the so called Ventus V12 Evo.

I searched and searched and, for the price, the V12 Evo seemed good enough for me, and in terms of confort they were/are, in fact, much better than the Potenzas RE050A.

The Potenzas were always bad and made the car too stiff, and for that reason I was, in fact, looking for more confortable tires. And that was accomplished indeed.

But the cons...

I drove my Ibiza FR with Hankooks for 3000 miles only in the dry (since July to a week ago I only got dry roads) and I didnt enjoy these tires at all. Very bad putting the power down, the side walls are very soft and, especially in the rear, that makes this Ibiza 6J FR very "nervous" when you push it a little bit more.

And these are suposed to be "high performance tires" ? Give me a break!

Yesterday I catched wet roads, and well it was a bit scary. I even got a little "surprise" aquaplaning and I almost had an acident (little, but and acident)...

The ESP was turning on constantly, an that never happened with the Contis PC2 and the Potenzas RE050A...


And If I tell you what I was thinking about theses Hankook and the begining... The gum in these tires were imense... Around 2000 miles to get the gum out (or more).

When I changed to the Hankooks I felted like the car was ruined.

I could go on and on, but I think that is it.

I don't recommend these tires, especially in a Ibiza FR (6J model).

After trying multiple tires i have found these to be the best all round tire, they make such a niticeable difference to the whole feel of the car and are very quiet compared with some previous rumblers!!
Pirelli Pzero are rubbish.
Suprisingly Dunlop sport maxx- very noisy..

Would advise michelin ps3 or continental sportcontact 3 or 5's

I have only just worn the tires in but they make such a difference. in comparison to the budgets which were on the car when i bought it the car just seams to stick and balance so much better and the road noise is also twice as good. also with a lot of torque they continue to grip, i wouldn't hesitate on purchasing the tires again and at a great price for a premium brand too!

Full set fitted at 19,000 miles and 24,000 miles from the front tires with all kinds of driving not the quietest of tires but great all round performance with good levels of warm up and grip in both wet and dry conditions.
Rears still going after 30,000 miles with about 3.5mm tread left am hunting for a new full set.
Put Hankook V12 on after and they spin up alot easier in cold conditions and seem to under steer more due to a softer side way.
All in all I will be buying profiler 2's again if I can get them good trye
