Fitment comes from each tire's manufactured size list, and the sizes are the ones drivers reported when they reviewed. Check the size, load index and speed rating on your own doorplate before buying - a size a previous owner ran is not always the size your car left the factory on.

How long do tires last on the Ford Fusion?

Across 10 end of life reviews from Ford Fusion drivers, a typical set of tires was worn out after 13,048 miles. Half of all worn-out sets lasted between 10,000 miles and 20,000 miles.

Distances are self-reported by drivers whose review marked the set as worn out; figures are medians, so a single unusual report cannot move them.

Yokohama Avid Ascend 235-40-19 Ford fusion 27,000 miles October 19, 2026

I have Yokohama Avid Ascend GT 235/40R19 96V XL tires on my 2017 Ford Fusion Sport. I put them on in February 2025, about a month after getting the car, and have driven roughly 27,000 miles since. The tires are already due for replacement.

Two are at 3/32" and two are at 4/32" which isn't the lowest tread depth, but it's pretty low with New England winter right around the corner. I have mixed city/highway driving and drive the car every day. Although I do occasionally drive in a spirited manner, I don't track this car.

Overall, they're just okay tires. They aren't terrible by any means, but they don't impress either. For about the first 10,000 miles they had a subtle humming noise that drove (haha) me nuts, but after this lengthy break-in period it's gotten much better. Otherwise, they've always been pretty comfortable and seem to provide good feedback. I can feel and hear what the tires are doing most of the time.

Naturally, dry and wet grip have worsened as the tires wear. Although dry grip is still adequate, wet grip is notably worse compared to even 5,000 miles ago. However, these aren't UHPAS or summer tires, so although they usually grip well enough, the maximum grip isn't quite as much as I'd like from a tire.

At the dry grip limit, or as close as I could get, they handle fine. When the car is settled in a turn and the limit is exceeded, they usually start to break traction in a gradual manner instead of suddenly losing it. Although my car understeers and front traction breaks sooner, the rear sometimes feels a little skittish and can be hard to anticipate, but this could be me and not the tires.

Since these tires won't see a second winter I don't have much to go on, but they did fine in the unexpectedly severe 2025 winter I experienced. They were able to handle thick slush and a couple inches of snow well enough, but only if driving very cautiously and easing the car through turns. Any excess speed resulted in a slide if the wheels were on any amount of snow.

The biggest disappointment for me is the tread life. These are 740 UTQG tires and have a 65,000 mile warranty, but they didn't even last half that long. Normally I would pursue the warranty, but I'd rather get better tires instead of dealing with all that hassle.

Yokohama AVID Ascend LX 215-60-16 Ford fusion hybrid 5,000 miles October 16, 2026

This is a great all season tire if your biggest priority is a plush and quite ride. This tire is very soft riding and soaks up cracks and bumps in the road, although it is a touch underdamped. I live in the Detroit Metro area so this is a compromise I'm willing to make. Tread noise is very quiet except for some whirring on perfectly smooth pavement.

Steering in this size, which is a bit higher profile is acceptable but on the relaxed side. I haven't needed to perform any limit maneuvers but the tire responds well to quick steering inputs to avoid road obstacles in both the dry and wet.

Rolling resistance seems good as well. I average 43-44 mpg in the summer months in my Fusion Hybrid. This is the same or better as the Crossclimate 2 I had on before but that was a wider and lower profile size so I can't draw a direct comparison.

No comments on winter performance as I run this as a 3 season grand touring tire and use a dedicated winter tire.

Overall this is a great grand touring tire for adding some comfort to your car and has appropriate steering and handling characteristics for my sedan.

The tires have one bad thing. Their shelf life is short. You should throw them away in the 5th year, otherwise they start leaking air from the cracks in the sidewalls and you get stuck on the road. I experienced the same issue with 2 out of 4 tires, and now I need to replace all of them. The tires have started to break apart. The tread on the tires is still like new. They grip wonderfully on wet surfaces. They perform quite well on dry surfaces too. There's not much road noise. But the tires have lost their properties.

Giti GitiComfort 215-50-18 Ford fusion hybrid 7,000 miles June 3, 2026
Despite its name, this tire is absolutely uncomfortable. You can feel every irregularity on the road. It was very quiet during the first week; after that, however, it generates quite a bit of noise. Handling on wet surfaces is poor. Even with just a light drizzle-before the road is even truly wet-you immediately notice an increase in braking distance. You hit the brakes, and the ABS engages instantly, giving the sensation that the car isn't going to stop.
Every now and then, the tire shifts on the rim; this causes vibrations throughout the car and, consequently, puts strain on the suspension. As a result, I have to visit the garage to have the wheel removed and the tire reseated. And about a month later, the vibrations start all over again.
Before switching to the GiTi Comfort 225, I was driving on Continental PremiumContact 6 tires.
On the positive side, I can mention that you don't feel the road grooves or ruts.

I bought them online before reading this review... I read it and immediately canceled the purchase. Thank you so much for your comments; they help prevent others from buying low-quality items that put our lives and the lives of others at risk. Best regards.

Not durable. Worn close to legal limit after 20000 miles (10000 miles on front axle and 10000 miles on rear axle) of day-to-day driving within 2 years. Better stick with mid range tires.

I drove a Ford Fusion 40 miles to get from my small town of country roads all the way to the airport in 3-5 inches of fresh snow most of the way and I was complete shocked how well these ate the miles of snow like I never expected. Not only that, but they gave confidence at pretty high speeds I probably shouldn't have been driving. The area I drove that was deeper 5ish inches I thought for sure was likely going to get me stuck when I had to come to a full stop, but no, they did great and we made our flight.

Dealer installed these tires when I bought the car. I did not expect them to be great, but I was pleasantly surprised how well they've handled Wisconsin weather year round for 5 years. Pretty solid in the rain, not the greatest in winter, but they managed about as well as I expect an all season touring tire to manage. I did drive in some deeper snow a few times long distance since I live in a small town, and with proper driving technique, they did managed to keep me from ever getting stuck.

Very poorly in snow deeper than 15cm, was struggling to get out the parking lot after a big snow fall. Also on icy roads I was not feeling safe as the back of the car was tending to slide slightly while going 10-15km/h. They felt very nice in wet conditions. Looking for something more resilient in snowy conditions as I'm traveling a lot to ski resorts in the winter.

I previously had a set of Michelin CrossClimate+ in 205/60R16 on this car and upgraded to 18x8s with these Contis. Overall, they're good! I do like them, they grip very well in most conditions I've experienced so far. I live in Georgia, USA, so we don't get much snow - cannot comment on snow grip. At cold but dry temperatures (12F, -8C) they stuck just fine to the roads. The handling balance has shifted from straight understeer to quite neutral, in fact on a rainy day I was able to get some lift-off oversteer, which I could not previously.

I had the CrossClimates on track, they were wholly unsuitable for it but still fun. I haven't taken the DWS06+s out on track yet, but I know I'd be able to extract more even out of this base model midsize sedan with them.
