Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015
WatchThe Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 is a road-friendly all-terrain tire that balances everyday comfort with dependable mixed-surface ability. User feedback and testing both highlight impressively low noise and a smooth ride for the category, alongside steady wet-road manners. It can be genuinely capable in typical winter conditions for an A/T, but snow and ice braking/traction are not class-leading and can be a weak point depending on conditions and tire age.

Review Summary
Based on 34 user reviews
Across 34 reviews, the Yokohama Geolandar AT G015 is generally viewed as a strong, road-friendly all-terrain tire with good comfort, low noise for the category, and dependable all-round grip for mixed highway and light-to-moderate off-road use. Many drivers report excellent longevity and even wear, with strong wet-road confidence and surprisingly capable winter performance for an A/T. A meaningful minority, however, report inconsistent results-especially faster wear or noticeable grip deterioration with age, and limitations in deeper/wet mud or on ice/compacted snow where lateral grip and braking can be weaker.
Strengths
- Quiet and comfortable on-road manners for an a/t tire
- Strong all-around performance (highway + gravel/dirt/light off-road)
- Good wet-road stability and traction (for most users)
- Good winter traction in typical snow/slush conditions
- Long tread life/slow wear reported by many drivers
- Good value for an all-terrain tire
Areas for Improvement
- Performance can vary with faster wear or noticeable loss of wet/snow grip as the tire ages
- Limited traction in deep/wet mud compared with more aggressive a/t or m/t tires
- Can be less confidence-inspiring on ice/compacted snow (especially braking and lateral grip)

Our SUV Eclipse Cross 2.2 8-autom 4x4 came with Yokohama summer tires, so it was obvious that the Geolander 225/55/R18 would be a good fit for the car, the included 2nd set of aluminum rims was fitted with Yokohama Geolanders. The vehicle is great to drive with them, the 4x4 provides drive, always. Safe driving in snow and mud, dry and wet too. But of course you should drive according to the weather conditions, because even a Geolander is no panacea! It has been in use in autumn/winter/spring for 5 years now and does a good job, never let us down! Air has not been an issue all these years, checked when changing and done! The tread is now slowly running out, it is clear that the Crossi will get Yokohamas again, and my next car will probably too. An A+ from me! Robust, holds up, drives well with a total permissible weight of 2.3t and a towing capacity of 2t - a good choice!
I recommend the tire.

After 3000 miles I find that I prefer the smaller (stock size) 195/80R15 with a 96 load rating. The higher load rating and LT (light truck) construction of the bigger tires made for a slightly harsher ride. The 195s seem to be less skittish in the rain as well.
Overall I'm really pleased with their performance. They start off with so much tread depth that you're likely to be replacing them due to age rather than wear, like me. Would definitely buy again.
My first impression of these tires were disappointing. Steering was very numb & floaty due to the soft sidewalls, I also had to have 2 of the tires replaced under warranty because they had radial runout issues and wouldn't balance. Dry traction is good. Wet traction is okay, but getting worse as they age along with noise. Snow & ice traction is good enough, but not great. Wear has been the most surprising thing about them. I think they could make it legitimately 60k, and that is with about 2,000 miles of towing on them. The PB is hard on the rear tires due to the truck braking the rear tires primarily with the energy recovery system, and the truck is in 2WD 95% of the time. I have rotated them every 10k miles. Other than the initial issues I have had zero other problems with them.
I will not be buying this tire again, mainly because I have wholesale relationships with suppliers and want to try something else. I am looking very closely to the new Pirelli XTM AT, Michelin Defender Platinum, and Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac RT. I am not shopping the KO3 right now because of the lack of circumferential channels, that I believe, will lead to worse hydroplaning characteristics and numb on center tracking.
Today they showed their weakness and that was in the snow.
We have had about 5 inch of wet snow, they are not to bad on the fresh stuff but
driving back in my own tracks they were all over the place, not very confidence giving.
Won't be getting another set.
Tirewear is slow and hard enough on rocks not to worrie about sharp edges pierce them. Looks nice on LR4 with sidegrip treads.
