In order to be equipped for all weathers and temperatures, the new Kinergy 4S² X offers specially balanced and constant performance features across all seasons for your SUV or 4x4 vehicle. This is made possible by a directional tread being used for Hankook all-weather tires for the first time, combined with a particularly innovative polymer silica tread mixture.

Methodology & Configuration
Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tire tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

Very good dry and wet handling, the best in snow overall, very good noise and comfort levels.
Reduced aquaplaning resistance, above average rolling resistance.
Hankook Kinergy 4S 2 X is great in dry handling, though not the best in dry braking, good in the wet though it struggled a little in the deeper water of aquaplaning, the best overall in snow, very good in comfort and noise, and had an ok rolling resistance. A solid all round product.
The Hankook Kinergy 4S 2 X distinguishes itself as an aquaplaning expert, offering reassuring resistance to hydroplaning in both straight-line and cornering situations. It delivers consistently good performance across all disciplines without any dramatic weaknesses, combined with an attractive price point. The testers noted that braking distances in both wet and dry conditions are somewhat longer compared to the class leaders, but overall the tire represents solid value for money-conscious drivers.

Is this tire a runflat suitable for the BMW X3

The 4S 2 is available in runflat sizes, however I'm unsure if they would be the correct sizes for your X3.

Given 80% while driving a Kia Motors Rio (185/65 R15) on mostly motorways for 50 average miles
bought a set of these 2 years ago based on a review from this site. wasn't sure about them at first as they seemed quite slippery for the first 100 miles or so, but soon bedded in, and since then have not had any worries. They perform well all round and am just about to buy a second set. would recommend these tires and if they perform as well this time round as last I will probably get again if available. for around £60-80 a tire they seem to be very good value.

Given 88% while driving a Land Rover Freelander 2 (235/65 R17) on a combination of roads for 25 average miles
I didnt expect to have winter tire performance with all season ones... They are very good on dry and wet, far above expectations. Sorry to say but no need to have both (winter and summer ) set of tires for light SUV vehicle. I had them on Land rover freelander 2. I drove them on muddy hills, ski slopes, icy roads and they gripped so well a had to have hard work to make a car sliding on snow. There was no place mud, snow or ice i wouldnt go, simply said... Great tire with insane winter capabilities for all season tire and a very good wet grip.
Wear was ok. For 25 000km they got to 5.3mm of tread. Driving was spirited only on mud ice and snow, and it was a joy with a lot of sense of control.

Given 73% while driving a Subaru subaru l series station wagon 4wd (225/60 R18) on mostly country roads for 1,000 average miles
I have driven 1,000 miles on these tires in my Subaru Outback in the Northeast of the USA where we get 100 inches of snow per a season. So far I am very happy overall. The tires do give a firmer ride comfort. I believe I have lost about 1-2 mpg though.

The Hankook Kinergy 4S2 X is an amazing all‑season tire that performs consistently well in dry, wet, and snowy conditions. I’m extremely satisfied, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable and versatile tire.

Given 62% while driving a Volkswagen ID 3/Born v3 77kwh (215/55 R18) on a combination of roads for 35,000 average miles
The tires performed very well during the first year and the winter season. However, in the second season, when they had already reached 15,000 miles, driving safely in the snow became impossible. The car constantly slipped and it was impossible to climb even the slightest incline. The tires perform well in both wet and dry conditions, but in snow, they were a disaster.
