Fine in the dry, reasonably quiet.
Cannot trust them in the wet.

I drove a rental car with these tires.
As soon as the road surface is even slightly damp, the braking effect is almost zero. Even with light braking, the ABS engages, and deceleration is minimal.
This is an extreme security risk!
No matter how well you drive, if an emergency stop is necessary, there will be a crash. The braking distance is estimated to be twice as long as with good or average tires.
No matter how cheap they are, I would never buy something like that.

Kenda Emera A1 215-55-17- Suzuki SX4 Scross 1.4T Boosterjet 1,000 miles February 15, 2025
These are VERY good tires, with supreme comfort and grip. As good for grip as my Continental EcoContact 6, but with more ride comfort. Quiet and quite a soft compound, with good handling. Because these prioritize comfort, road feedback is not quite as good as the Continentals, but it makes for a safe, relaxing drive. I will actively choose these for both my cars again. Excellent.

Dealer installed these tires when I bought the car. I did not expect them to be great, but I was pleasantly surprised how well they've handled Wisconsin weather year round for 5 years. Pretty solid in the rain, not the greatest in winter, but they managed about as well as I expect an all season touring tire to manage. I did drive in some deeper snow a few times long distance since I live in a small town, and with proper driving technique, they did managed to keep me from ever getting stuck.

These tires have turned my car into a death trap in the wet. I do not know how they passed any kind of test in wet conditions. Very dangerous, I have almost crashed several times before changing them with 70% tread left!

Kenda KOMET PLUS KR23 195-65-15- Opel Zafira TDCI 5,000 miles October 3, 2024
Uncomfortable and noisy. Does not handle wet roads, as they tended to hydroplane and loose traction, in the back.

Rankings combine independent test results with owner reviews submitted through this site, each naming the car, the tire, the size and the distance covered. Reviews are checked by hand before publication, and the page rebuilds automatically as new evidence arrives.

About the TR Score

The Tire Reviews Score rates each tire out of 10 using independent test results and the full body of owner reviews, weighted by how much evidence backs them.

Who does the testing

Every test published as a Tire Reviews test is run by Jonathan Benson, who has been testing tires independently since 2007.
