Volkswagen Touran tdi Tire Review Highlights
They are amazing in really wet weather situations. No the handling isn't great or anything, even with a lot of water under the tire, but outright wet grip is really top. In the dry, they are okay, alright, nothing special. Fuel economy seems to be a smidge worse than comparable tires from michelin, goodyear, continental etc, but nothing to worry about. They are a bit noisy with speeds above 130km/h, still comfy(65% sidewalls are pretty much always comfy, no matter the tire type). Noise isn't a problem for me, since my GF and me mostly travel at 120-130km/h speeds.
When pushed to the limits in the dry, they start to squeal really badly and just smear away with a tendency to understeer. Not a tire i would put on a MX-5, Gt 86 or other sporty cars.
In conclusion: Prbly the best wet tire we ever had on a car, but the rest is simply middle of the road. If you live in a very wet climate, yes. If its not raining 24/7 any other tire would prbly be a better choice

I bought my Tyfoon Eurosnow2 as second hand, and I honestly don’t know why anyone would want to upgrade. They’re excellent value for money, the wear is barely noticeable and they are quiet.

I've covered 5,000 miles on these tires now. They are quiet, grippy and are lasting well with almost no wear so far. I've not tested them in freezing (2 degrees or less yet), but have got down to 4 / 5 degrees and they felt exactly the same as they did when it was 25 degrees!
Fuel consumption is slightly increased but by a very small amount (like literally 1-2 mpg over a good summer tire).
I'm running the XL 98 version, which simply shrug off the couple of potholes I've hit out here in the countryside without complaint or consequence. A great tire.

Fitted these tires on the front wheels after reading the good reviews on this site of these tires. My original Continental Sport Contacts lasted for 22,000 miles, I have now covered 10,000 miles since fitting and an nearly down to the blocks. Wear away far too quickly, will not buy again.

Achieved over 30k miles with these tires and am very pleased with them.
Great wet and dry grip - always providing good traction.
I'm a normal driver so rarely pressed but always gave a comfortable ride and good grip in corners.
Overall a very good summer tire which gave me no problems.
Only issue is price and have now fitted some nexen nBlue tires. Will I notice the £50 odd difference for two tires?

Recently bought a VW Touran and it has a set of these tires on the front. In 2 words 'very loud' road noise and the comfort is terrible. Had me wondering if my suspension is worn (10,000 miles ermm no!), every bump and divot no matter how small is transmitted to your hands and behind. Can't comment on wear, progressiveness. I can say I misjudge my braking distance in the wet, have driven for 26years and never known handling like it. Ok in the dry i suppose except for the noise. I drive an MPV and don't expect performance necessarily, but do value safety. False economy...avoid.

Fantastic value for money, outlasted firestone tz300 almost double. bettre traction and response than the firestone also.

These tires came fitted to the car from new and I was not very impressed. All my other VW's had come with either Conti's or Michelins and I have always been able to get over 20,000 miles out of them and I classed the Bridgestone's as a budget brand.
However, the more I drove my car the better the tires became, with very good feedback, in the wet or dry with encouraged some spirited driving and the Bridgestone's were always up to the job. Towards the end of their life from about 3mm onwards the grip both dry and wet did fall away. At 22,000 miles I had 2.5mm of tread left, when I had them changed at 28,500 miles it was just under 2.5mm.
Great tire & have used again.

excellent tires, great in cold wet conditions, very good in snow, possibly wear less well than summer tires but still good overall value. Would definitely buy again. Much better in winter than summer tires and ok in summer if you just want to run one set of tires avoiding extra steel wheels, £10 per wheel per tire change. I use on VW Touran so absolute performance not essential but allows you to drive past cars stuck in snow.
