Lexus IS250SE Tire Review Highlights
In my opinion the best performance tire on a passenger car
In the dry the handling and performance is outstanding.
In the wet it's also really good
The only downside is that they wear faster than the average tire.
But still an outstanding tire.

Initial review of this tire. Much better feel as compared to previous Michelin Pilot Sport 4 if compared with sidewall and dry grip. Shall update more later.

Our car gets fitted with Nokian Winter tires during five months of the year and the Nokian WR A4s are pleasantly quiet and very long-lasting....still using this set after six winter seasons. This new Nokian eLine2 summer tire is quiet, comfortable and I expect it to be long-lasting also. They replaced Michelin Pilot Sport 3, which I found noisy and slightly harsh riding. The Michelins deliver fantastic grip in the rain as well as when it's dry, with precise handling; the natural penalty being they wear relatively quickly. The Nokian is a different style of tire, more suited for cruising as opposed to charging around, so a good match for a Lexus. Nokian uses a simple and effective numeric indicator on the tread so you can see easily how many millimetres of tread remain.

Previous model was Bridgestone Potenza S001 (Made in Japan). Switched to Michelin Pilot Sport 4 (Made in Thailand). Used for 6600 KM (4101 Miles). Grip similar, noise similar, handling similar, noise S001 more noiser and wear rate S001 faster.

These tires are fitted to the rear of my RWD is250. The front tires are Autogrip P308s. All four were fitted by the previous owner.
Dry grip: My driving style is quite gentle, and the tire grip in dry conditions is good - nothing special, but good. I can drive with reasonable speed and the tires cope well.
Wet Grip: This is where things appear to go wrong. I have been driving for over 23 years. I have driven multiple types of car, both manual and auto, front and rear wheel drive ... but I have never known tires to have so little grip in the wet. The F107s fitted to the rear of my car are an eye-opener. Incident #1: making a left-hand turn at a junction, in wet conditions, at approximately 5-10mph - I applied light throttle power, and the stability control kicks in/starts bleeping .... what the ......?! I put the incident to the back of my mind. Incident #2, a month later: carefully negotiating a large roundabout at 15-20mph, in moderately wet conditions ... I apply light throttle ..... the tail steps out approx 20 degrees, and the stability control kicks in ... thank God there were no cars alongside me! This can't be right?! There was no warning .... the back end just went! I will have to drive very slowly in the wet from now on. The front tires (P308s) seem to be better in the wet. I have driven a RWD W124 Mercedes in the wet ... with completely different tires ..... no sliding ....
Wear rate: good - the tire compound must be quite hard .... hence the above problems!
Comfort: reasonable. Maybe a tad firm!
Conclusion: A reasonably good dry weather tire with a good wear rate ... but I wouldn't trust these tires in the wet!

Traded in rears at 78,000 kms and 4 years (front replaced at 60,000kms with poor alignment.). My Lexus and I loved the tires. I am considered to be an aggressive driver so I am not kind to tires. Good grip wet and dry. You need to be a little careful of keeping alignment good as they wear quickly if out of kink. Tried to buy again but no longer offered. See how the Super Maxx 050 goes.

Drove for 18440 km and tire still remains more then 50% tread. Even wear.

What a pleasant surprise. These tires were already fitted to a newly refurbished set of alloys I purchased. I have previously had many premium brands, mainly michelin, bridgestone. These tires are very very good, wet and dry grip is excellent. I have not pushed to the extreme limit as I drive 'press on' not like a lunatic! They grip and inspire confidence. Like most people I drive the same route to work and I can certainly feel the improved levels of grip compared to michelin pilot primacy, these were not worn out BTW. Cannot comment on wear as I have only had them 2 months.
