Hyundai Ioniq Tires

They came new on a second hand Ioniq 28kWh, but swapped them for Continental AllSeasonContact 2 after about 32000km. The rears still had between 6 and 7 mm and the fronts still had between 5 and 6 mm. However that's about the only positive thing about them. They make a very noticable whining sound that increases in pitch with speed. It gets amplified when there is rain. The grip is okay as long as it's dry and warm, but the steering response is vague and driving straight is difficult. Once it gets cold, they lose grip quickly, below 4 degrees it's surprisingly easy to get the abs to work. Seems like a very hard compound of rubber. These tires don't feel safe in case you need to make an emergency stop. Since switching to the AllSeasonContact 2 the car is a joy to drive again, such a stark difference.

I would NOT recommend these tires if you get given the choice.

Going at 90km/hr on a slightly wet road when felt the tires slipped and immediately skidded out of control. Dangerous tires...

Replaced all 4 previous Michelin tires due due to tread getting low at 20,000 miles. It's a pure electric car, so needed the extra weight rating. Not had any wet weather yet, but dry performance is excellent - car really grips the road when cornering at motorway speeds, and the lower sound is unexpectedly noticeable compared with the Michelins. I am planning to keep the car for at least the next 3 years, so will be interested to see if there is any reduction in wear as claimed.

Replace the previous Bridgestone Nextry tire, the ES31 felt safe & capable in both dry and wet scenario, i am an easy driver in an Ioniq 28KWh, ride is good and didn't notice any bad behaviour. Too early to comment on tire wear as i had only done around 5000km in it.

Without a doubt, after so many years of fitting all kinds of brands, this is the worst purchase ever made. Two of the four tires are deformed, since they were new. The brand does not respond and neither does the workshop. Both produce parasitic movements. When driving, the sensations at the wheel are of turning the steering wheel, the tire twisting, leaning and starting to turn. In a storm, any boat at sea has less movement than these tires. It is awful. Of course, they grip well both in dry and wet conditions, but what it conveys is that you are driving a van tire. I would not buy it again, nor would I accept it as a gift. In itself, nothing from the Goodyear company will be fitted in my cars/motorbikes in the future.

The tires were bought new this year. It may be a little early for a concrete test and description, but still...the tires "behave" fantastically. The grip is excellent (even now, when it's 4 degrees in the morning). They are quiet and relatively comfortable. Road feedback is perfect (unlike the previous GYs). For once, the "fuel" consumption is quite high compared to the previous tires (GY EP2) (about 20% higher), but time will tell when they are a little more worn (rolling resistance of new ones) and warmer outside - EV is particularly "sensitive" here (rolling resistance)! In summary, an extremely good tire for a very very good price. I would definitely buy it again!

Just replaced the eco contact 6 tires on my Ioniq Electric with all season contact 2’s and have been really impressed so far. They seem slightly quieter than the summer tires (although still a bit on the noisy side). The biggest improvement is driving in wet conditions - these are far superior to the eco contacts and overall the car feels much more stable and planted than it did on the eco contacts. To date I’ve not noticed any significant change in range either.

My Renault Scenic has the first generation all season contacts fitted and they perform brilliantly in snow, I’m expecting the second generation to do just as well (although I’ve not driven these on snow yet so too early to confirm).

Overall an excellent tire which I’d definitely recommend and would purchase again.

Michelin primacy 4, with 360 treadwear rating can reach 50,000km/ 5 yrs. Pass that and it start to have crack lines on its sidewalls and remaining soft treads starts to peel. Its rubber compound doesn't stand well in the tropical weather. At least till the above mentioned points. Quite good mileage, but other reputable brands also last till 50,000km too but they do not peel like this model.

A comfortable ride up to maybe the 4th year. Very good grip as well.

Sidewall looks good after years, does not sag, maintains its sporty low profile look. Cheaper ones sag the moment you fit them in. Gives you the under inflate look despite the correct psi. Primacy 4 does not sag.

I had the Vredestein Quatrac Pro before and it was a perfect tire. Hoped that the Gen-3 would be at least as good as them but so far i´m really annoyed. Grip is perfect, but they produce an annoying noise level, are rumbling at almost any speed. My dealer had checked them twice, even balanced them again. Would i buy them again? No, which is a shame as they are really nice to drive. If i don´t get used to the noise (hope it goes away some day) i will change back to Vredestein in the autumn.

Never had such a poor tire. Skids over manhole covers and slides for no apparent reason on mildly damp roads even at low speeds. Provides no confidence when driving and potentially extremely dangerous. Would expect a budget tire to perform better. Michelin should be embarrassed to have this tire in their range.

This tire was fitted to my hybrid car as the e-primacy was not available from Michelin. Originally my vehicle was fitted with Energy Saver tires which regularly gave me in excess of 70 mpg. These tires have not been able to achieve 60 mpg on a regular basis.
