Volkswagen Beetle 1303 1.6L Tire Review Highlights
These are the back tires on my VW 1303. Lassic beetle. They have lasted a very long time 30,000 plus. The wet grip is average. Dry grip better.

Got these for the front of my lowered classic VW beetle 1973acpehrson strut suspension.
Was sceptical at first as never had Avon.
However I happened to take a roundabout way too fast in the wet, very heavy rain as well, the grip of these tires when pushed was fantastic. The back end which has Dunlop went out sideways but the front responded to each turn of the steering wheel to compensate and did not slide in doing so stopping the skid. They saved my life. Also in the dry I have noticed on the rare occasions. That corners can be taken 5 mph faster than with other brands.

This was the first time I switched to West Lake after using bigger brands like Bridgestone, Goodyear, etc.
The West Lake tires are good in dry and wet conditions for regular every day drive. Actually, I felt very confident in my VW beetle with these tires.
Having said that, the tires were so uncomfortable and noisy. I swapped them out after using for 6 months. My wife was pregnant and said that the baby might come out sooner if I continue to keep these on.
STAY AWAY.

At first they seemed like decent tires, with good enough grip on both dry and wet road, but somewhat noisy. Sometimes driven on the limits, they offered good grip on turns. After the first 20000km (driven in ~18 months) they had lost only 10% of their performance. Still after 40000 they were moderately worn out and gave a quite safe sensation on dry, less on wet road. After 6 years and 60000km they are OK, making them "Last man standing" champions, I've never seen anything like that
