Performance Analysis
Drawn from 11 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.
The Linglong Sport Master Winter is generally a lower-half finisher, with useful dry-road performance offset by recurring wet and snow weaknesses. It set the fastest dry handling lap in the 2025 Auto Zeitung test, but was ninth of ten overall, with the longest snow braking distance and highest rolling resistance. In the 2026 Auto Express test it was ninth of 11, with wet handling and both aquaplaning results near the bottom. Testers repeatedly noted high rolling resistance, although the tire's low price earned it AvD's price-performance award in 2026, when it finished ninth of 15 and was rated good.
There are some notable exceptions. ADAC placed it joint third of 16 in 2026, helped by the shortest dry braking distance, but warned that it had the least snow traction and used the most fuel. In the 2026 Auto Bild Allrad test it was fastest in snow handling and third in snow braking, an unusual contrast to its weaker snow results elsewhere. Aquaplaning also varies: it was second in both tests in the 2025 Auto Express comparison, but second-last in both at Auto Bild Allrad a year later. Sport Auto found it unbalanced in every condition on its light MX-5 test car in 2026, placing it last of nine and rating it poor.

Strong = top two of the field in that measurement. Weak = bottom two.
2026 Auto Bild Allrad SUV Winter Tire Test
The Linglong Sport Master Winter shares seventh place overall, rated satisfactory after a safety penalty for its wet handling. It is a strong snow tire for the money, but its wet-road weaknesses hold it back.
2026 Sport Auto Winter Tire Test
The Linglong Sport Master Winter finished last and was the only tire in the test rated poor. Its low price is the only argument in its favor, and on this evidence it is not one worth taking: the shortfall in wet and snow safety is not marginal, and the rolling resistance means it costs more to run than the purchase price suggests.
2026 AvD Winter Tire Test
The Linglong Sport Master Winter finished ninth, rated good and AvD's price-performance winner. It cannot match the established brands for grip or tread life, but it is safe in every condition and very cheap to buy and run.
2026 ADAC Winter Tire Test - 185/65 R15
The Linglong Sport Master Winter shares third place thanks to balanced dry and wet results. Its winter performance is its weak point, so it suits milder regions better than snowy ones.
2026 Auto Express Winter Tire Test
The Linglong Sport Master Winter finished ninth, a step back from its showing in this test a year ago. Snow performance is respectable for the money, but the deep-water results and the economy are hard to overlook.
2025 AZ Performance Winter Tire Test
The Linglong Sport Master Winter, manufactured in Serbia specifically for European customers, finishes ninth overall and represents a tire that hasn't yet met expectations despite its regional focus. On snow, the tire provides only marginal grip resulting in the longest braking distance at 91 feet and the lowest driving safety rating of 15/30 - when winter conditions arrive, this tire struggles to provide adequate security. Interestingly, in wet conditions the Linglong proves less problematic, though extended braking distances of 175 feet still concern, and lateral aquaplaning protection in curves needs improvement, scoring 25/45 for safety. The tire surprises in dry handling by posting the fastest lap time at 75.2 seconds and demonstrating respectable grip at 142 feet braking, though its nervous rear axle behavior demands driver attention and scores 25/30 for safety. Environmental performance is deeply disappointing with the highest wear rate of 0.215 mm per 1000 km after Triangle, shortest projected life of 17,709 miles, highest rolling resistance at 9.6 kg/t, and loudest operation at 76.2 dB(A). While it offers low cost per kilometer at 3.38 euros, the Linglong's poor snow performance, high environmental impact, and demanding handling characteristics make it a questionable choice even at its budget price point.
2025 Autobild Winter Tire Test
The Linglong Sport Master Winter from the Chinese manufacturer manages to deliver respectable driving characteristics on both dry and snow-covered roads, showing that emerging brands are improving their winter tire development capabilities. High lateral grip on wet surfaces is another positive attribute. However, the tire is severely let down by extended braking distances on snow—ironic given its winter designation—which create serious safety concerns in the most critical winter driving situation. Overall snow performance beyond straight-line braking is also weaker than established competitors. At approximately €360 per set, it's among the cheapest options from recognized brands, but the snow braking weakness is too significant to overlook, even at this bargain price. The tire might be acceptable for mild-winter regions where snow is rare and quickly cleared, but for actual winter driving conditions, the compromised emergency braking capability makes it impossible to recommend over similarly priced but safer alternatives from established budget brands.
2025 AMS Winter Tire Test
The Linglong Sport Master Winter delivers balanced performance on reduced grip levels overall, but has pronounced weaknesses that limit its appeal. It provides decent braking on both wet and dry asphalt with good aquaplaning protection, and shows sluggish but easily controllable handling on dry roads. However, on snow it demonstrates weak performance across all disciplines except cornering grip. On wet surfaces, the tire exhibits sluggish steering with limited reserves and a tendency toward lift-off oversteer, which is concerning. In dry conditions, while cornering stability is weak, it maintains some basic competence. The tire feels somewhat harsh over cross joints. Most critically, the EU label's optimistic A-rating for wet grip proved misleading - the actual performance doesn't match this claim, and process stability in the Serbian manufacturing facility appears questionable based on follow-up testing showing significant variation between production batches.
2025 Auto Express Winter Tire Test
According to Auto Express, this tire delivers a “strong performance” that announces LingLong’s arrival on the winter‑tire scene, but they warn that its economy is “poor”. It excels in dry handling and offers competitive grip, yet higher running‑costs reduce its appeal.
