Toyota Yaris Mk4 Hybrid 1.5 (XP210, M15A FXE) Tires

Done a few more miles on these and it has revealed some weaknesses! While my initial impressions in the wet were very favourable, I have found the tires are very prone to slipping on certain surfaces, mainly things like painted lines and manhole covers when wet or damp - I've found it much easier to trigger wheelspin and the traction control when e.g. accelerating and turning out of a junction with yellow box markings in the rain.
It's just a very stark contrast as, on normal tarmac in wet or dry, it's normally much better mannered. Aside from that particular anomaly the tires are still performing very well. I've since been driving in a mix of dry and extreme wet including some roads with deep surface water and flooding up to the wheel rim and they've continued to display great aquaplaning resistance. That said I can see why people have given it a lessor rating in the dry as the grip doesn't seems to improve much as it gets drier, but for me that consistency has stopped me from getting too overconfident in the dry and letting that carry over into the wet, which was an issue I had with the Michelins I previously had!

Literally just had these fitted to replace some Michelin Primacy 4's and then immediately driven around all day in a continuous torrential downpour, so not much experience with them yet, and ordinarily I'd hold off dropping a review so this is more of a pre-review, but I've been so impressed I had to drop a mini-review to say the wet weather performance of this tire is simply amazing compared to the Primacy 4's - Where the Michelins tended to lose grip when turning a bit quickly in the wet, these grip and grip and are far more sure-footed - Situations that would have provoked understeer and traction control kicking in on the Michelins were just taken in its stride with these. Even having one side of the car being dragged through surface water on the gutter-side didn't provoke slip or even that pull to one side I'd normally feel in that situation, not even a hint of aquaplaning. I am seriously impressed with how much better these are in the wet than the Primacys!

Look forward to seeing how it performs in the dry, but if it's anything to this level these will be good tires to live with! To be fair these have a full 8mm of tread-depth while the Michelins were down to 2-3mm, but even when new the Primacy4s were never this good in the wet!

The car was bought from a dealer with these tires in the front brand new and on the rear had Continental AllSeasonContact2 that was 2 years old. The dry grip was bad in a turn with 60km/h the car would go straight (see photo) the Continental AllSeasonContact2 in the rear was perfect. After 4000 miles in a turn with 10km/h and the road a little wet when I press the pedal the car slipped and the steering wheel went crazy I had to take my foot from the pedal to regain control of the car. The tires has lost some little rubber in some spots in one of the two tires I saw. After the event with the wet road I change it immediately with Pirelli Cinturato P1 and I was in such a mood that I did not think to take photos the rubber that was missing from the tires.

Very good tires overall, tried in very wet, wet and super dry/hot conditions. Impressed with the outcome. I must confirm that i don't do high speeds in my excess of 100-100km/h.

Insisted in buying again but had to make do with falken sm-110 as that was available. Will review those accordingly. As for wear and tear, tires been on car for 5 years daily driving rear are almost untouched and front started cracking hence needing replacing,still totally driveable on dry

Not good at wet surfaces. Cold, curves, wet and high torque is enemy of this tire.

Got 4 of these for a bargain due to ATS Euromaster offer and have had them for a few thousand miles so far.
Far better grip than the Triangle tires previously on the car. Acceleration, Braking and Cornering grip is superb in the dry, but in the wet, especially cornering grip, is surprisingly sub-par with some unexpected understeer on e.g. roundabouts in the wet and also on dry recently salted roads. Was quite surprised by that as Hankook Ventus and Goodyear Efficientgrip were much better and I expected similar from a top-tier brand like Michelin. Economy and NVH are on par with a premium tire, good but not mindblowing. Will be interesting to see how they wear over time as either they start off with a slightly lower tread depth than other tires I've used or they are wearing down quickly!

Tire fitted 3 weeks ago just in time for the recent bout of wet, icy and snowy weather. My first reaction was how noticeably more comfortable they are compared to the summer tires on my Toyota yaris hybrid. In the wet they have significantly more grip particularly when pulling away from a standstill and they were outstanding in the ice and snow.

While decent grip and resonable road feedback, they are very noisy and got worn out in about 25.000 miles on a small hatchback. I won't buy again, there are better alternatives at the same price or bit more.

A decent tire, slightly above average in all areas but nothing stand-out. Ran the fronts down to 3mm (Rears still at 5-6mm), where they started to loose performance noticeably in the wet and cold, becoming more prone to triggering the traction and stability control systems than before. Replaced the fronts with the same tire as they were fantastically good value - £57 each! Now back at 10mm of tread, the tire's performance is much better and sure-footed again. The fronts lasted just over 20,000 miles.

35K of kilometers on Yaris 2021 Hybrid. A word: Disaster. From the first day the tires were sliding in all the weather conditions. I can't understand the review scores I see from the other reviewers. It is so bad that makes me suspicious Changed them to a "just good" tire (not even close to the best) of this category (Goodyear Efficientgrip Compact) and the difference is obvious from the first turn in. I wouldn't recommend them

Amazed how good. Just the same performance as our winter tires but don't have to change them for the summer. Just changed the fronts to AP3s (AP2s no longer offered) after 30,000 miles. Rears still good. I will now see how these new tires compare

Switched to these from the 205/45R17 Bridgestone Ecopias that came with my Yaris Mk4, when I downgraded to 15" rims - Actually wanted Ventus Prime 3's but the dealer apparently has trouble reading beyond the manufacturer name. It's sad how little main dealers seem to care these days. Was expecting garbage from an Eco tire, but have been pleasantly surprised! It's early days yet, but had to pop in a quick review just because the difference in road noise between the 17" Ecopias and the 15" Hankooks is stark! I don't know how much of this is down to the rim size drop vs the tires, but the Ecopias were brain-drillingly horrible in terms of road noise, esp. on older tarmac and concrete-slab roads, while the Hankooks have been blissful on all surfaces so far! So far grip and handling don't seem too much different; If anything the car seems a bit nippier off the line and brakes a bit better, but doesn't seem to hold its momentum as much. Not tried it in the wet yet! Hopefully it continues like this as it wears, but so far it seems like another good tire from Hankook!
