Fitment comes from each tire's manufactured size list, and the sizes are the ones drivers reported when they reviewed. Check the size, load index and speed rating on your own doorplate before buying - a size a previous owner ran is not always the size your car left the factory on.

How long do tires last on the Land Rover Freelander 2?

Across 16 end of life reviews from Land Rover Freelander 2 drivers, a typical set of tires was worn out after 26,000 miles. Half of all worn-out sets lasted between 20,000 miles and 30,000 miles.

Distances are self-reported by drivers whose review marked the set as worn out; figures are medians, so a single unusual report cannot move them.

Put a set of these on fathers Freelander 2 about 2 years ago he has done roughly around 10,000 miles on them and they have worn well. He says it's the best set of tires he has ever had and he's had a few being old as tree's. Says they're quiet (but he's hard hearing). Sometimes he mounts kerbs, tracks towards ditches and drives on the white line bless him, he's not had any punctures or damage so I'd say these are quite tough. Seen him tow his caravan through a snowy field, so I'd say traction is really good. I will be getting him another set in 2 years time if they available as they seem to be keeping him on the road lol.
Seriously great tire Hankook.

Replacing Pirelli Scorpions, the Michelins are a definite step up. In the dry the steering is far more precise, grip levels high and behavior at the limit clean and benign. Stopping distances are commendably short with excellent stability. If anything they are even more impressive in the wet with exceptionally strong lateral grip and progressive behavior at the limit. They are very resistant to
aquaplaning on flooded motorways. Road noise and rolling comfort are good but not exceptional. As I use extreme winter tires
for half the year I have no idea how they would fare in snow or ice although they show commendably good behavior in low
temperatures unlike some summer tires. So far they are wearing well. For on road use in above freezing conditions I strongly
recommend these tires as being worth the high price and would happily buy again.

I didnt expect to have winter tire performance with all season ones... They are very good on dry and wet, far above expectations. Sorry to say but no need to have both (winter and summer ) set of tires for light SUV vehicle. I had them on Land rover freelander 2. I drove them on muddy hills, ski slopes, icy roads and they gripped so well a had to have hard work to make a car sliding on snow. There was no place mud, snow or ice i wouldnt go, simply said... Great tire with insane winter capabilities for all season tire and a very good wet grip.
Wear was ok. For 25 000km they got to 5.3mm of tread. Driving was spirited only on mud ice and snow, and it was a joy with a lot of sense of control.

Compared to the all season Pirelli Scorpion and Michelin Pilot Sports I have used before I am amazed by how well these winter tires perform. In the dry they are a
fraction less precise and grippy but only by a very small margin. Rolling comfort is a little better on the Coopers as compensation. In the wet, particularly as the
temperature drops they are vastly superior to the all season tires with really clingy grip even on greasy surfaces with super progressive breakaway. You really can take liberties. On fresh light snow they grip well and on icy roads they retain control where normal tires would just let go. I have not driven them on snow deeper than about 5 inches. Naturally being a low temperature tire they wear quickly if driven at high speed in summer relative to an all-season. I fit them during the winter and use the all-seasons in summer so I get the best of both worlds. Highly recommended for winter safety and security!

Bridgestone Weather Control A005 EVO 235-65-17- Land Rover Freelander 2 18,000 miles January 12, 2025
My experience of these tires is much as the review and others thoughts, generally very capable, however as time has gone on the performance has dropped particularly in the wet and cold to freezing conditions where as previously when much less miles on them I had full confidence driving in those conditions, I’ve reached the point of easing up rather more than I’d prefer, so it seems to me that after a certain amount of wear, the extreme performance of the tires drops off quite sharply and after 18months and close to 18,000 miles the biggest disappointment with them is that they now need replacement as they have worn down to the point of just under 2mm with the outer edges well below that, I do about 1000 miles a month through the year and my previous Vredesteins managed close to 30,000 miles so I won’t be returning to these Bridgestones in a hurry, I know they have been replaced by another model let’s hope they are longer lasting

Halfords fitted 2 new tires 9th July. 2,800 miles later in 9 weeks the tires have worn to 3mm all over and the wires are showing on some parts.
Both front tires, both completely worn out. Halfords refuse to consider the tires may be faulty

Goodyear Wrangler All Terrain Adventure 235-65-17- Land Rover Freelander 2 4,000 miles November 26, 2023
I've fitted them on Freelander 2 for a autumn overland rally in Romanian mountains.
We have done almost 2000 miles on tarmac, big rocks, gravely roads, grass, some mud and even snow and ice. Mostly on lowered pressure to 1.8-1.9 bar.
I was surprised by the incredible grip on grass even in very steep slopes. We didn't got any puncture on sharp rocks. Quite reasonably usable in 15cms of fresh snow.
Still quiet and comfortable enough.
Great surprise!
When compared to BF Goodrich TA/KO2, the Goodyear doesn't look as hardcore as BF, but performs better overall at half the price. BF is only slightly better in mud.

Maxxis Bravo AT771 225-65-17- Land Rover Freelander 2 32,000 miles November 20, 2023
For a mid range tire, I have found the Maxxis Bravo AT 771 to be an excellent all round performer. We do most of our mileage on country lanes & A roads with a minimal amount of dual carriage & motorway. Grip in the dry is excellent. Performance in wet is more than adequate. When we had a big fall of snow last winter, I was more than confident driving in thick snow & compacted ice. Only complaints would be road noise & fuel economy but no more than usuals trade offs for an all terrain. Done close to 32,000 miles & still got a few K left in them. Will price them when due & if competitive will definitely have again.
