Mercedes Benz Vito Tire Review Highlights
Writing about the Dunlop Econodrive given 46% (225-55-17)
Driving on mostly motorways for 20 average miles
Severe fracturing & chunks missing from tires after 30k of highway travelling. Not normal wear & tear and needed replacement due to damage & unsafe condition. Noisy at highway speed.
Used on Vito van with light loads.

Very disappointed with the tread depth on these as new tires.
Brand new and only 6mm of tread. My Michelins on the rear of my van still have 7mm and have covered 20k already. I expect these Pirelli’s will need replacing this time next year. Not good enough, £50 a tire cheaper than the Michelins. Pay the extra and get Michelin. Best all rounders and last, I predict 3 times longer !

Noisy tires & harsh ride on Vito van
Mainly used for highway travel with light loads.
Front tires fracturing badly at 25,000 km with chunks of tread missing.

Writing about the Falken ZIEX ZE914 EcoRun given 94% (225-55-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 30 average miles
I have had these tires for about 3 years. I estimate I've travelled 50,000+ km's.
I'm now due to replace all 4
We have done done quite a few 2,000 k'm trips on good quality highways. The tires were excellent in wet and dry and hard braking.
We have always felt safe driving with these tires.
For me, personally, the steering is always the most important. The only issue I've had has been a screw in the front driver side tire. Still, the tire has held firm. Thus why I'm now replacing all 4 as the wear mark is also approaching. This is my 2nd set and I'm definitely considering these again
Sometimes, it's worth paying a 'little more' knowing the quality is never compromised
Tires have always been 'noise free' and the ride has been very comfortable. Vito's are a good ride anyway
I bought this Vito with 199,000 and some Chinese tires, they were very noisy and a little loose on roundabouts and 90' corners.
The Falken have always handled well.
I am very satisfied with this brand and tire design.
I would definitely recommend them and, No, I'm not on the payroll Ha ha. I am an average road user and bought this Vito in 2016
I am currently upto 291,000 km's
The tire wear has been even right across the tread pattern. I hope this helps other drivers.
I have also carried motorcycles in the rear and again, the drive was easy.

Driving on a combination of roads for 35000 easy going miles
These were original on my new Vito van. After 40000km I noticed braking distance was affected and gradually got worse. Now at 53000km they are just plain dangerous with chunks or rubber missing from all 4.

Driving on mostly motorways for 6000 spirited miles
I fitted these to 2021 Merc Vito 116 SWB.
The stock tires were Continental Vancontact 200, which were well worn by 50k kms.
My first thoughts of the Firestones was that I'd made an awful mistake by having these fitted.
I was almost going to turn around after a few 100km and see if they would replace them with something with better traction.
However as it turns out the break in period for these tires is unusually long, I would say at least 1500km before I felt that these tires gave sufficient grip to be safe.
Now after 10k kms I have either developed a tolerance for them but objectively they offer great grip for me in most conditions and even in heavy rain have delivered good handling characteristics.
If you require good grip and handling straight after fitment then these may not be for you but as a driver with many years of experience with many vehicles and tires I can assure you that after a while these tires will start to feel much better, maybe its a lot of mould release compound trapped in the rubber but I have never experienced such a long break-in period as with these tires.

Driving on a combination of roads for 38000 spirited miles
New Vito 160bhp, auto, rear wheel drive, 5 seater, with Dunlop EconoVan tires. The vehicle is used for pleasure only so no heavy loads. Still using tires at 38000 miles. Front tires are still Ok but rear tires are worn out more than the front ones obviously. On dry roads tires behave as expected except the noise.
When wet conditions, entering roundabouts can be dangerous at times as the tire is worn they slide a lot and I mean a lot. From new, I could make the rear slide a bit a I had to work the hard to make that happen. Noisy tires from beginning. When worn out it gets even more noisier and very hard rubber, hence they last that many miles. For the price £150 per tire /value/miles they are pretty good choice as other major brands cost approximately £200 and last around half the miles which is nothing in comparison. Would I buy them again? Yes I would

Driving on for 15 average miles
Read the reviews,
Ordered a set 3 months ago and, they are great tires but do seem to wear ok, did around 15000 miles and nearly on the wear marker , but have to add its an 8 seater Mercedes Vito van with 163 bph so on the traction axle that’s I guess not abnormal…
Great road response, road noises ok.
Would recommend them definitely for the price/ quality.

front treads started tearing of in chunks before tires were halfway. Rear tires split the casing, very dangerous. I can't understand how MB could fit these as OE on their vehicles
