Volvo V90 D4 Tire Review Highlights

Writing about the Michelin Primacy 4 given 96% (225-55-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 1 average miles
Have tried other makes but have not found anything to match Michelin for reliability, performance, safety and longevity.
Best and only tires on the market for me personally.

Writing about the Nokian SeasonProof given 93% (245-45-18-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 40 average miles
I’ve just purchased new Seasonproof, having done a lot of research in U.K., for my new Volvo V90 estate - this review is really for the waterproof SUV tires I had on a Volvo XC60 FWD. I had these tires on for 3+ years, covered 40-45000 miles around U.K. and Europe. Not an aggressive driver, but still covered A, B and motorways. After 3+ years, I changed them at 4mm depth as they were getting a little noisy. (Choose crossclimate, but then sold car) Nothing bad just my opinion. Main reason for getting these were winter, snow such driving. I live on a hill. NEVER did I get stuck or stalled. Always felt safe in snow, slush, ice, rain and dry. Reviews I read seem to assume, aggressive driving, slamming breaks on, speeding around corners, high speed in snow\ice, far from your average driver I feel. Nokian’s came low down the review list against major makes of tire. For a normal driver any tire would do. For me, I chose Seasonproof on the back of the waterproof SUV tire. Price! Wear! Snow driving! May not need such a tire for an estate car but on that day when it does snow in U.K. I’m covered. Heavy rain is also a time these tires shine. I’ve save £150 against 4 x major brands, that’s a few tanks of fuel. Would and have bought Nokian again. Be safe!

Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 average miles
For my style of driving - average, comfort, mixed city+highway is very well balanced. I was looking for well balanced winter tire (best for grip and breaking on wet) and at the end I decided to try new W330 iCept Evo 3 because of good test results on exact tire size I needed. Price was also much better than GY or Michelin and performance pretty close/similar so it was no beainer for me. I can’t comment on wear and fuel consumption but it is slightly higher than with my summer GY UG 9 (which is expected).

Writing about the Pirelli P Zero given 50% (245-45-18-W)
Driving on mostly motorways for 15000 average miles
I purchased Volvo V90 with these tire and this it's my second review of these tires. I had them on A8 LWB and I thought maybe I am not lucky with the batch. P zero are the worst tires on market. They are made from chocolate and wear extremely quickly. They are not that special with driving experience and you pay extra for premium brand. Dont waste your time and money.

Writing about the Sumitomo BC100 given 50% (225-45-17-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 300 spirited miles
225/55/R17 tires fitted by the dealer when I bought my 2017 Volvo V90 D4 Momentum. Car weights nearly 1.85 ton and got 190PS diesel engine, front wheel drive. These tires often lose grip when I accelerate quickly even on dry road with the slightest imperfect surfaces. On wet road these do not give me confidence at all. Tire noise is acceptable when they are new, no idea how it performs when wear down. I can't comment on the wear rate just yet but seems to lasts. They are soft tires so the ride is comfortable I give you that. Other than this, there is not a single thing that I would recommand. I can't wait for these tires to wear down so I can buy something else.
