Best Tires for the Lexus GX460

Dry and wet grip feel good in my use which is mainly long highway stretches but with plenty of medium speed curvy back roads. I run them on my 2013 Lexus GX460. Have not had opportunity to test in snow or ice as of yet. Off road grip has been great with that mostly being loose gravel, soft dirt, and some mud/water crossings typically with rock bottoms. Wear has been very good in my experience so far with about 15,000 miles on them yet. I expect they will last to about 60,000 at the rate they are going however I will likely swap before making it that far. Previous tires I can compare to on this vehicle are Michelin primacy A/S and Toyo AT3. Compared to the Toyos, wear and handling are improved as well as needing less weight to be in balance. Comfort leans to the Toyo but it is close.

Purchased a set for my Lexus GX460. Aggressive directional tread pattern with high end looks. Relatively flat side wall which is very attractive. Handing and road feedback is excellent and confidence inspiring in dry or wet weather. Extremely quiet at highway speed. Stopping distance could be better but not too far out of line with the competition. 2 years and 25k miles later, still have 50% tread so I think they will easily outlive 40K mile warranty.

I have the stock size on a 2013 Lexus Gx460. Overall a great tire. I have 60,000 miles on them and 80% is on-road. In Florida the rain can be crazy. I have had no hydroplaning or loss of traction issues. In the sand and mud it has been very good. Our mud here in Florda is like paste. It caked up a little but was easily cleaned out with some throttle. Much better in the dirt and sand than in mud however. I am thinking of going with these again or the Toyo AT III

I've been running PS4 tires for a number of years now after giving up on the likes of Bridgestone and Yokohama, mostly because not only are the inferior in grip and handling, but also don't seem to last all that long. I had a Ford Falcon G6E Turbo with around 400rwhp for many years and the PS4's were great. I still only got 20,000 to 25,000km out of them, but that was still better than the RE003's I'd had on previously, which never made 20,000km before reaching the wear markers, and they are in a different league than the RE003's especially in the wet - and we get a lot of wet where I live. Wet breaking is insane, almost supernatural.
Sadly the Falcon got written off when another driver decided to rear end it, and I'm now driving a Lexus GS460 - I replaced the crappy eco tires that were on it when I got it with a set of PS4's - same size as I had on the Falcon, and the Lexus is a similar weight, though a bit less power, not entirely dissimilar suspension design though probably a bit more sophisticated than the Aussie boat. That was 7,000km ago - and I can tell already the Lexus is not going to be anywhere near as hard on tires as the Falcon was.
Anyway the PS4's are obsolete now, as the PS5 has just replaced them this year. I'll be trying those out eventually, but it does appear the PS4's I have currently are going to last a lot longer than they did on the Falcon - at 7000km they still have over 5mm front and close to 4mm rear, so after a rotation I'll probably get another 20,000km out of them at least.
All in all, if you can still pick up a set of PS4's, and you drive a heavish, powerful RWD saloon with multli-link double-wishbone suspension in a subtropical climate, the PS4's will probably suit you well as they have me.

As a snow tire these are unparalleled. To break traction on public roads I have to drive like an absolute maniac and they are very predictable once they lose traction. I've had these on a fwd hatchback and an AWD SUV and in four years I've encountered unintentional oversteer once on the road in my SUV and wife reports that she's never steered wide in her car. These tires are so good in snow they feel about as slippery as summer tires feel in the wet.
