Fitment comes from each tire's manufactured size list, and the sizes are the ones drivers reported when they reviewed. Check the size, load index and speed rating on your own doorplate before buying - a size a previous owner ran is not always the size your car left the factory on.

Basically a budget tire. OK for dry driving styles. Easy to normal wet road driving. Anything above normal wet road driving, no grip. A very basic XL rated budget tire. A poor performing, cheap tire. Especially in the wet or damp road conditions.

This tire was in a set of second hand alloys i put on my asta 1.6 sxi 2001.
I was more than happy with the levels of grip and feeling,
the ride was hard but only because of the low profile, I have changed to 45 and it is much better,
These tires gave a nice sporty feel to my ageing astra,
I would buy again on a budget.

The side walls of these tires are way too soft, very poor feedback and handling when cornering.

Terrible tire got them as pervious budget tires from same place had been upto what i wanted. These however turn the car into a death trap, no grip in the wet minimal in the dry, horrible vibrations off them will be replacing with kumho ku39s as these have been great in the past and on par with previous toyos i was running .

GT Radial Champiro HPY 215-45-17-V Vauxhall Astra SXi 4,000 miles July 5, 2012
Having driven on Falken ZE912's for 4 sets, I was reluctant to try a new tire, but I am more than glad that I did.

The wet and dry handing from the HPY's is a noticeable step up from the ZE912's, grip is much stronger in all conditions, I am actually pretty amazed how confident they make the handling vs. the Falkens which I always liked.

I'm told the wear rate is better than the Falkens as well, though I've only put 4000 or so on them so it is hard to tell, but given the excellent handling I would not hesitate to buy these again. The price was good, cheaper than the ZE912's, and mine also came with a lifetime repair warranty - any punctures would be repaired or if the tire was beyond repair, I would get a percentage discount on the replacement HPY based on the tread depth remaning on mine. This was a Champiro warranty too, not a dealer one.

Best tires i have had on my Vauxhall Astra. The Uniroyal's are better than the continentals and Dunlop's that i have had in the past. Fantastic in the dry and pretty good in the wet as well.

This is an update on the Astra and Vectra below or above when this comes out.The Astra has now done 10,762 miles on the fronts and they are ready for changing they have about 2/3mm in depth left. They have been a very good tire since placed on the car they have never slipped up in the wet and the braking is very good, wet and dry they corner with no fuss whats so ever with very little road noise. The story is very near the same on the Vectra but not so well with wear I dont think I will reach 10k on the fronts unlike the Astra also they have never let me down.. even in bad rain on motorways and B roads they pull up very well and in the dry are sooo grippy. In both cases they are better with the 2psi increase above minimum pressure, once ballanced from fitting they have been no trouble at all, my opinion on these tires is on my size they are good value at £42 on mine and £44 on the Astra a tire we will be fitting them again soon they are great for the money.

As said in the 1st posting the pics of the tire online make the tire look like a crossply but be assured they are a nice wide tire in the flesh.
cheers

Like driving on a rollercoaster in the wet. You simply dont know when the traction will break away from the road. Had these on the car for 400 miles of sheer rollercoaster madness. Should be named ditch pickers. No wet grip period, average dry grip. Final straw came when I entered a dampish roundabout and the car spun around. These should be withdrawn scarey scarey tires. Lost back end traction turning a slow 10 mph corner. Off they came and full refund given.

I bought a set of four tires for my partner's Astra SXi and so far am impressed with them. You get great feedback from the road and you feel like you make a contribution to where the car is going when you steer.

Need some new tires for my Zafira so I am going with these too. Reasonably priced too considering they are a premium tire with "eco" benefits. I've yet to see the "benefit" yet but we shall see! I get a warm fuzzy feeling I am contributing to keeping this planet green anyway. ;-)
