Fitment comes from each tire's manufactured size list, and the sizes are the ones drivers reported when they reviewed. Check the size, load index and speed rating on your own doorplate before buying - a size a previous owner ran is not always the size your car left the factory on.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 225-45-17- BMW 335i (D) 5,000 miles March 27, 2022
Incredible grip in all conditions, these tires feels amazing. Better grip than the Dunlop Sport Maxx tires I had previously, but the trade-off for all that grip is very poor wear rate. Overall I would choose the Dunlops over these as they lasted far longer and gripped almost as well.

The tires came with the car - remapped to 340bhp and can't cope to the extent that they are dangerous! In the dry I can slide around like I'm on gravel if I'm only slightly adventerous with my right foot! In the wet there is absolutely no grip. I have no idea if they are any good in the snow as I couldn't get on to a road with them!

Terrible, dangerous, but unfortunately hard wearing!

Outstanding grip on curvy roads, communicative and predicatable at the limits of adhesion. Yes, expensive but will replace with same.

Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Run Flat 255-30-19-W BMW 335i (D) 26,000 miles November 4, 2009
Just replaced all four tires after 4000 miles of wear. 225/R19 RE050A 88Y on the front and 255/30R19 RE050A 91Y on the rear. All tires worn through to the braiding on the inside edge, rest of tread approximately 7mm. Scary as you cannot see the wear without getting under the car. The tracking was all awry with the king pin angle being over 13 degrees+ on the front tires. 26 readings were taken on the front of which 6 were classified as dangerous This is either a tire design problem or the the BMW suspension is unable to absorb the extra stresses caused by the stiffness of the side wall in a RF tire hence the changes in the tracking. The UK roads are in a terrible state with pot holes, sunken drain covers or badly repaired subsidence. This must contribute to the problem and therefore either Bridgestone or BMW or both are not producing a product suitable for UK road conditions. Today I was informed that a colleagues car, a BMW 1 series has suffered the same problem and all four tires are having to be replaced. This suggests that this is a common problem with BMW and Bridgestone on which despite the dangerous implications both manufacturers are keeping quiet. I will follow this through with BMW and report further

Where this data comes from

Every rating on this page was submitted by a driver through the review form on this site, naming the car, the tire, the size and the distance covered. Reviews are checked by hand before publication, and the page rebuilds automatically as new ones arrive.

About the TR Score

The Tire Reviews Score rates each tire out of 10 using independent test results and the full body of owner reviews, so you can check a car-specific ranking against the wider evidence.

Who does the testing

Every test published as a Tire Reviews test is run by Jonathan Benson, who has been testing tires independently since 2007.
