BFGoodrich g Force Phenom TA

The BFGoodrich's g-Force Phenom T/A is an ultra high performance summer tire with strong wet braking results. Internal tests show better wet braking distances than rivals including the Yokohama ADVAN Apex V601, Falken Azenis FK 510, Firestone Firehawk Indy 500, and Hankook Ventus V12 EV02 in size 245/40ZR18. The tire uses a dual-zone tread pattern splitting wet and dry performance zones, with stiff sidewalls and shallow shoulder blocks designed to improve feedback and cornering stability.

  • A lively, responsive tire with good noise control and composed street manners, the Phenom T/A feels quick but struggles to deliver matching grip, especially as heat builds on track. It’s enjoyable to drive but lacks the standout performance needed to compete with the segment’s best, making it a solid yet unremarkable option in a competitive field.

How noisy are these tires compared to Bridgestone Turanza T005a?

No one has tested the Phenom yet, however it probably safe to assume that the Phenom being a performance bias tire will have less focus on noise and comfort than a tire like the T005 which is a premium touring product.

Given 84% while driving a Toyota 2022 GR86 (225/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 31,000 spirited miles
Swapped to these tires after the original PS4 from the car tore a huge whole from cracking. Knew about these tires about the same time so decided to go with them as they were also a cheaper option in Malaysia.

Comparing these Phenoms with the PS4, I personally feel that they are very similar to the PS4 in terms of grip. The phenoms seem to be grippier than the PS4 in dry while loses slightly in the wet. They are also as noisy as the PS4 but thats not important.

treadwear is 380 and lasted me about 50,000km with some fun in the wet. Overall very satisfied with these tires priced at about RM500 per piece. Best bang for buck in my book as of now.
