BMW M135i X Drive Tire Review Highlights
I live in Sweden where winter tires is really important. I've tried Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5 in the past and thought they were great. But these new Pirelli Ice friction is something else! The snow grip is incredibly precise and the feedback you get from them makes the slides predicable even at higher speeds. The ice grip also is quite good, starts and braking are predictable which is nice (but nothing compared to a studded tire). The comfort aspect of it all is quite good in my initial impression. The noise level is quite low and the ride is also great! Changing conditions is not a problem for these tires in my experience, going down a twisty backroad with sections of ice, snow and dry ground in 70+kph being no problem at all! The wet is somewhat of a weakness of this tire with aquaplaining being a problem quite frequently (very common issue with these nordic winter tires though). Although it handles the wet better than the rival Nokian R5.

Very prone to tram lining and following undulating roads.

I’ve always purchased Goodyear and Michelin on the cars I’ve owned, so I thought I’d give Pirelli P Zeros a go on my Beemer M135iX. First impressions is the tires have transformed the cars handling in dry and wet conditions for the better, they look great on my car too.
I’ve done about 3000 miles since fitting, mostly on country lanes and motorways, the wear seems to be good.

These tires are great if its warm and dry, but there is very little grip if its cold and/or wet. I would not recommend them for use in Scandinavia but they would be great for use in southern europe.
I have traction issue at full throttle even with 4WD (430PS 650NM) if the tire is below 15 degree celsius.
I have no traction issue with my winters Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 at any temperature even in the wet.

Amazing grip in the dry for a winter tire. Only negative is the comfort that is not as good as other winter tires. But then this is more responsive with better feedback than other winter tires.

Comfortable and sporty. These tires round off bumps well yet feel good in the corners. Immense grip too even in the wet. The car feels well supported, I previously had Continental Eco contact 6 and these feel noticeably better, a plusher feel. Very impressed so far.
