Best Tires for the BMW 318D

Put them on BMW E91 LCI rwd. Currently it is spring in Croatia so the temperatures go down (5,6 degrees) and up (25 degrees). Driven them hard on open road and in the city rush. First impression - comfort. Second impression - the amount of grip. I am glued to the road. I hope this version (Evo) lasts longer than Potenza Sport. I will get back with another review in the end of their life span. 10/10 experience. I wanted the F1 eagle asymetric 6 but the production is slow these days and they were not available. This was my second choice.

I can compare these tires to the ones i previously had on the car, the gislaved ultra speed 2 and the pirelli pzero nero GT. The continental has it's weaknesses, namely that it's sidewall is very soft. I daily the car that i have these on and they are great for all round driving, but when i want to throw the car in some corners i can feel that the sidewall starts to flex when going in a corner. It grips insanely well in the corners and in a straight line i can't even get the traction control light to come on. They are very good for daily driving and the ocasional sporty weekend driving. The flex of the sidewall is something that you will get used to, so it is not a deal breaker. In the rain they are insanely good, i drove the car in the rain as fast as i drove it when dry and i felt no difference, very confidence inspiring. Would definitely recommend this tire to anyone. Wear wise, i found it to be very good. On the Gislaved, i noticed some graining after 2 years of having them and the grip gradually started to drop. The Pirelli were good, but nowhere close to thhe Continental. Out of the 3, the obvious best is the Continental. Also, on the other ones, there was a difference in grip between cold and hot tire, but on the Conti i couldn't find that difference in grip.

First thing about this tire you notice is the noise. It is the loudest tire (from 0 to 60 km/h) ever to me. It changes the whole driving feeling. Comfort is ok, wear is great for now. Drove them on fresh snow uphill to mountain, all good. On the other hand, on cold and wet it is not good. ABS on downhill breaking turns on to much. Would not buy again.

Above all, ride comfort and steering response on dry roads, parking or leaving the garage are very good. Lane changing is also pleasant, but not as precise as Michelin Sport. They are not very noisy tires, although depending on the condition of the road, we can say that they are remarkable, they have no weak points.

They're good tires and for the money they're amazing, but the comfort is bad.

Great tires compared to michelin alipin 5. Both tires served perfectly for 2 seasons, but i don't recommend using them in the 3rd season. I recommend these tires. Price and quality is very good.

First two years of using grip was good on wet and dry road. After 2 years grip on wet is very bad. Tires rapidly change quality after 20000 km which is not normal for me. Prior this tire I was using Pireli P7 which have much better performance after two years of using.

2 winters on them, not very much snow in those 2 winters but I did try them in mid life on a montuain during a snow storm going on RWD car and I made it with zero problems to the top. Biggest complaint is the wear on them. 3rd winter will be my final with this set.

Very happy with dry handling, not bad at wet handling. Around 10 degrees they become very hard and lose all their grip on the "cold" and wet. Other than that, 6 months on them, around 10 000 km, driving RWD with around 200 hp, living in Croatia (very dry and hot summers) I am very pleased with the price range and quality. I would by them again.
