before i bought these i had a set of michelin pilots, which was pretty much an all season Tire. i decided to go for a summer tire and bought the proxes T1R. they really surprised me ! not only because of its value but also performance wise. supper sticky, grip in wet conditions, reasonably quiet....driving through puddles with no risk involved has never been more fun ! defenite re-buy when i wear them out !

Bought my Proxes exacly 1 year ago and after 10000 miles i can write something about them. I was looking for a replacement for my excelent but expensive Bridgstone Potenza when i heard about Toyo proxes, at first sight i was very pleased with the way they look with their "V" and found very good feedback about them, price was ok....So i decided to give Toyo a chance, and im glad i did.I Recomend.Great tires for great price.

Just replaced all 4 Bridgestone Potenza RE030's (factory fitted from new) on my Lexus IS220d-SE. First impressions: After 19,800m on the Bridgestones, these feel lovely. Great grip - both wet and dry - and coped really well with a spirited drive to son's rugby match down Doncaster way on the A19 - a high speed rural A-road freshly caked in tractor-dropped mud!
Lovely and quiet - quieter than the Bridgstones in almost all conditions EXCEPT... The M1 near Leeds has sections of tamped concrete surface. These tires 'sing' on that stuff! Must be a harmonic with the frequency of ridges on the surface and the funky tread profile! Not a major issue.
Very comfy yet responsive ride, with pressures at the 'mid' setting of 45psi rear / 42psi front.
Full report when I'm done - probably as I change cars in March 2012.

a very good tire for it's money, but for my driving style, a much gripping tire will more suit the Impreza 4WD's characteristic, especially at corner speed.

Hi
Had these tires for a few months on my Focus ST170. Excellent tire, I do a lot of motorway driving especially over the M62 York to Liverpool. Very responsive tires! They handle well at higher speeds, exceptional in the wet and very good in the dry. I do enjoy quick cornering and so do these, I get no over or under-steer they grab the road as though the car is on rails. I live in the middle of the countryside and again excellent tires for all weather conditions. I have only ever tried theses tires on my Focus so i cant say what the drive would be like on other cars that have not been mentioned on here But I definitely recommend these over the Uniroyal Rainsport 2 that i ran last winter about the same price but more grip. Very good tire for my type of car, will certainly buy again.

Want a tire that does everything but doesnt excel in anything.. this is the one.. comfy? yes... although when it gets some mileage it gets a bit noisy, grip.. yeah good grip.. not the best but good.. wet, i dont know.. i live in Lima, Peru.. doesnt rain here.. feedback, ok ... wear? i never change my tires when they get all slicky, i cahnge them whent hey get noisy.. so perhaps 1/3 of life still in there.. still this is a good all round tire.

Have been using T1R for 1 Year
Very good dry grip on the Track and on Normal Road,
Tire don't lose grip even after pushing more then 5 laps round the Track
No Tail sliding like the Yoko A Drive,
Highly Reasonable price for a Performance Tire
Dislike
-Side wall wear out very fast, Have to change the front tires after every track session
- Tire tread looks like melted rubber after 10 laps around the track or so

I found these to be a great tire.
Happy with the wet grip, although I found the surface had to be really wet or really dry for best performance. If the surface was damp, then had to be more careful.
Fronts lasted 8000 miles (including 4 track visits) and plenty of hard cornering. Rears still going now at 12000, plenty of tread.

I've had several sets of these and have tried different profiles 2.2 VTEC with Bilstein/Eibach suspension.
On a hot summer's day when warmed up, these tires are absolutely unbeatable for flat out acceleration, cornering, and braking. Far better than the sport equivalent Good Year's, Continental's, Pirelli's, Dunlop's and other lesser value brands I've driven on. Feedback is excellent, tire roll is minimal, and progressive break-away is controllable with a little experience. They are extremely predictable which inspires great confidence late braking and tight corners.
On a warm (10 degrees C plus) wet road, they are also very grippy.
However old cold or freezing roads, they are only above average on dry roads. On a cold wet road, the performance is fairly poor - comparible to a good budget brand (eg CEAT Spider).
On snow, slush and ice, they are absolutely useless. It's unfortunate really as these tires cost me £50-60 each, yet I've spent £100+ per tire for other big brands and not has as good grip in the warm and dry.
Overall a fantastic SUMMER tire. A average/below average WINTER tire. Wear is average to poor, but I'd expect that from such a soft grippy tire. Expect 10-15K miles with a high performance car and spirited driving.

Excellent dry weather grip along with pretty good wet weather grip when new makes this my tire of choice now.
They wear quite fast, lasting just 10000 miles on the front of my MINI Cooper but the tradeoff is a cheaper price than the other big name brands and excellent grip and feel on dry roads.
I did find that once down to 4-5mm tread left they started to tramline quite badly following camber changes in the road and pulling the steering on poor surfaces. Grip remained good throughout the wear range although as expected the wet weather performance does drop off as they wear.
The sidewall is nicely shaped to protect the rims from kerb rash and ride comfort is excellent when new although again they do become quite harsh when worn low.
Winter performance is also excellent for a normal road tire, no match for full winter tires but seem to cope well on slush and in light snow conditions.
I've just replaced all 4 for a fresh set of Toyos which speaks volumes of how good these tires are in the mid price range.
