Best Tires for the Fiat Punto GT turbo

Tires was kidna expensive for 195/50r15 (paid 400€). Very Good Grip on dry for the first 1.5-2 years and about 4000km. Stiff sidewalls good for cornering, bit stiff for city driving with potholes.... Noise a little bit more but nothing crazy. I was expecting a lot more with this kind of treadpattern and driving orientation. Then its like you turned a switch and became mediocore after two years. Wear was fast. It caught me off guard when i checked. I hit the wear limit markers on 9000km for the fronts. Sidewalls start cracking and got sidewall bulges for no particular reason. I think they are unsafe in this kind of condition. On mild wet they were very good for some reason. it hooked like it was a winter tire. Maybe because of the soft compound. Never went out in downpour rain though. Also i met wet roads mostly on the first year of having them

This is a very good tire for all weather which allows for some spirited driving, I crossed the Alps on a Fiat Punto Gt with them and have no complains at all regarding the grip although there are much better tires ofc, these dont let you down and you can feel confident with them on dry. Wet grip is not this tire strong, allows you to drive ok in the rain on on very wet roads but sleeps more than recommendable and the braking distances increase hugely at least on a light boosted car like mine.

Not your usual UHP tire:
These tires cannot match the most expensive UHP competition gripwise. Steering response and feedback are average too - all due to the relatively soft sidewalls, which in turn make them really comfortable!

Wear is mediocre, but the price is reasonable.

These tires are very progressive on the limit, but you should drive conservatively in the rain. They prefer soft suspension setups on wet roads!

Excellent rim protection.

Overall, a top choice for a comfortable UHP tire on a budget! Not suitable for hard-core applications.

PS. Also running them on a Hyundai i10 1.2 (same size) with the same impressions...

These Dayton D210 were my choice after using Premium brand high perfomance tires, like Michelin, Bridgstone and Continental.

In truth, I've never expected much of these Dayton D210...But, I did choose them because they´re made at the Brigstone tire Factory in Italy, and what a suprise they actually turned to be!

The tires were (and still are) fit to a Fiat Punto GT, doing an average of 20000km/year. It´s my daily runabout car, long distance runner and also my favorite toy when the road is not a straight line - so they do have to cope with some serious amount of stress.

So, for the Dayton D210 , they are cheaper than the premium brands which is a plus, and are incredibly grippy, very progressive on the limit.

They are especialy good allround tires, and tend to last about 25000km - on extremly demanding driving conditions. The other premium brands didn't last much more than that and the conti sport contact 2 were not as good as the Dayton on wet roads.

Fitted on to a car that's driven more calmly, the Dayton D210 can last for about 50000-60000km. I've seen better than that form Michelins and Continentals lasting 70-80000km, but those tires were not as good as the Daytons on wet pavement (expecialy granite stone pavement).

So, these tires are not the cheapest nor the more costly, and can deliver premium perfomance when you are expecting for a lower perfomance tire.

It was a suprise to me, a very good one.

Worst tires I ever had. Avoid them at any cost, don't get fooled by the looks of them. They don't grip at all, especially in the wet. They had a nice grip for the first 2000 miles, and they became like plastic. Utter robbish.
