Nexen N Blue 4Season 2

The Nexen N Blue 4Season 2 is a mid-range touring all-season tire that stands out for confident winter performance, particularly on snow and ice, while keeping everyday refinement high. Drivers consistently praise its quiet, comfortable ride and strong value, and professional testing backs up its excellent wear and cost efficiency. The main compromise is wet safety at speed, where aquaplaning resistance and wet handling/braking lag behind the best-in-class options.

Scoring Process
  1. Collect Test Data: Gather results from professional tire tests across multiple publications. Minimum 1 test(s) required.
  2. Normalize Positions: Convert test positions to percentile scores using exponential weighting (factor: 1.2).
  3. Apply Recency Weighting: More recent tests are weighted higher with a decay rate of 0.95.
  4. Incorporate User Reviews: Factor in user review data (minimum 5 reviews). Weight: 15%.
  5. Bayesian Smoothing: Apply Bayesian prior (score: 7, weight: 1.5) to prevent extreme scores with limited data.
  6. Calculate Final Score: Combine all components using normalization factor of 1.1. Max score with limited data: 9.5.

The Nexen N'blue 4Season 2 establishes itself as a versatile performer with good capabilities in both snow and dry conditions. This Korean tire demonstrates solid engineering with predictable handling characteristics that inspire confidence across varied conditions. On snow, it provides reassuring traction and stable behavior, while dry road performance remains competent with acceptable braking and composed handling. The tire offers good ride comfort, making it pleasant for daily driving duties. However, weaknesses emerge in wet conditions, where aquaplaning resistance begins at relatively low speeds, requiring extra caution during heavy rain. The handling in the wet also lacks the precision and confidence of better-performing competitors. For drivers who primarily face dry and winter conditions with only occasional wet weather, the Nexen represents a reasonable compromise, though those in frequently rainy climates should consider alternatives.
11th/16
The Nexen N'Blue 4Season 2 receives a mere "adequate" rating for driving safety due to significant weaknesses on dry roads, which downgrades its overall score. On dry surfaces, it offers poor steering feedback and is imprecise, requiring driver corrections due to delayed responses and a tendency to oversteer early during quick maneuvers. Its dry braking, however, is rated as good. On wet roads, its performance is satisfactory overall, though it is weak in resisting lateral aquaplaning. Winter performance is a major strength, achieving the second-best result in the test. It scores well for snow traction, braking, and handling, and is notably the only tire to earn a "very good" rating for braking on ice. Environmentally, the tire narrowly misses a good rating; while its fuel consumption is low, its satisfactory projected mileage and average weight bring down its score.

Questions and Answers for the Nexen N Blue 4Season 2

How are these on rough dirt roads?

All season tires are not intended for rough roads which means you risk tire damage if you're using them heavily offroad, however generally people find that with the softer compound and directional tread pattern, as found on the N'Blue 4Season 2, they can offer very good grip in light off road situations.

Review Summary

Based on 6 user reviews

Drivers of the Nexen N Blue 4Season 2 report a strong all-rounder with standout snow and ice traction, a very quiet and comfortable ride, and solid performance in typical dry and wet conditions. Many highlight excellent value and even improved fuel economy. A minority note that dry/wet grip can feel merely average at times and that traction in heavy standing water isn't class-leading, but overall satisfaction is high.

Top 3 Nexen N Blue 4Season 2 Reviews

Given 91% while driving a Skoda 2002 Fabia 1.4 estate (195/50 R15) on a combination of roads for 1,000 average miles
My first all-season tires, have them fitted for just over a month but apart snow and ice I have already tested them in almost any environment they would appear in (hot, dry and dusty summer, grease after short shower, torrential rain, "normal" dry and wet roads, cold mornings etc.). First impressions: quietest tires I have had in the past ten years, at least of those fitted on this particular car (Bridgestone ER300, Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance, Nokian Wetproof, Nokian WR D3, Continental TS 860), also lowest fuel consumption.

Handling and safety: I would compare them to both Goodyears and Nokians when those were new in terms of traction and breaking distances in dry or wet conditions; although I would say that both summer tires had better traction in torrential rain and standing water (I'm not going to break any speed records in those conditions so I don't mind). It might seem to be a strong statement but keep in mind that this is a recent model whereas those summer tires are quite old but stll sold as new (almost all manufacturers stopped introducing newer models for smaller cars so it is an absolutely valid comparison).

I am not going to expect how long they are going to last and actually I don't care. The winter Continentals are still pefectly OK even after nine years without any signs of deterioration but the Goodyears became dangerous after their third season (cca 20.000 km) and had to go with 6 mm of tread left. Nokians were better, after five years of use and cca 25.000 km they only started showing first signs of losing their original grip at the moment they were replaced (punctured sidewall by a sharp object on two of them). So if I replace them after five years and some 35.000 km because they have worn out without losing grip, I would be absolutely satisfied.

Given 80% while driving a Kia Motors Optima (225/45 R18) on mostly country roads for 1,000 average miles
Extremely quiet tire with good wet grip after the first 1000+ km. Compared to the replaced Hankook Winter I*Cept evo2 W320, the new Nexen tires are more comfortable.

Еxcellent tire for all conditions! Tried on snow, ice, dry and wet, about 10,000 km, no complaints

Initial Impressions Review
Given 75% while driving a BMW 320d touring (225/45 R18) on for 3,000 miles
I fitted these on my 320d (F31) in december last year, they performed surprisingly well in the harsh winterconditions we had. The tires also performed well on dry roads and higer Autobahn speeds (160-200kmh). The road feedback is good for a allseason tire, im am happier than with the Vredestein quadtrac pro plus which seemed squisher. I am interested on how they will perform on warmer days in the summer. No signs of wear could be noticed at this point.

Initial Impressions Review
Given 86% while driving a Daewoo Leganza (205/60 R15) on for 7,000 miles
Here I am again with my Daewoo Leganza but with different tires. The Nexen N blue all season.

Positively surprised. Especially if you look at the price.

A proper all season tire that doesn't Excell but doesn't disappoint either in all weather conditions. It's a nice peace of mind that no matter what kind of weather you get in to this tire gets the job done. (2 weeks ago heavy snow with trailer)

Look at all the positive reviews here. It's practically a no brainer.

Forget about the Goodride all season which is wrote about before.

Thats a winter tire with an all season badge.

Average performance on dry and wet roads, good on snow and excellent on ice. Driven on icy roads during a snowstorm at 5 fahrenheit. The car stopped immediately and accelerated from stop signs at intersections where trucks and SUVs were spinning rubber and couldn’t move.
