Saab Automobile 9 5 2.2 TiD Linear Estate Tires

Tire finally taken out by a screw @ 35000 with over 3mm tread left. This is a comparatively high mileage tire - non-directional so you can swap sides unlike competing all-seasons at present. Really quiet, comfortable and didn't lose traction in the mild snow we have had (whereas the summer rear tires did when slightly pushed in corner). Imparts a sense of confidence despite bad the weather. Grip and handling similar to the likes of Bridgestone all season and Goodyear summer tires but I don't push the tires hard. Slightly more prone to aquaplaning than BridgestoneA001 at motorway speed. Weaknesses: Slight over lightness when newish and hence slightly less feedback -- though this partially resolves as the tire wears in. But wow, it's so much cheaper than others with equivalent performance; justification for the premium brands seems weak. If you do long distances on motorways and you have to be able to travel, I think this is a really good option for the UK.

Good tire overall. Compared with the preceding Bridgestone All Season (A001), 30% cheaper, 30% Higher wear rate (about the same as Goodyear summer tires), more prone to aquaplaning on the motorway but also more comfortable, quieter overall and easier to turn steering. They are not directional, which may help with life as they can be rotated (unlike the A001). Contrary to published reports, the A001 was better at gripping on snow.

Don't moan that the tires are rubbish.If you want a great gripping tire,spend more cash.You get what you pay for.For the price,they are fantastic.Ive never had an issue.This is the second set I have used.

Now @ End of life on the second set on the front. Both sets consistently lasted over 32K miles (surprisingly previous summer Goodyears and Michelins 22K). Also unlike previous tires, still performed well when down to 2mm even under stress. Never put a foot wrong under any condition (heat, rain, snow...). Resistance to aquaplaning at motorway speeds was particularly impressive. Amazing product. Note it is directional and you can't swap wheels to the other side of the car.

Replaced unevenly worn Goodyear on the rear which had reached 20Kmiles. Have now done 21K miles on the ZV5 and there is still just under 5mm left. Haven't pushed hard enough to give more stars for grip but so far, through sun, rain and snow, they have performed well, remaining quiet and so far even-wearing - not quite as quiet as the soft Goodyear. Discounts on the Avons seem to be good so don't compare till you have checked. So far, I am really pleased with this UK made tire - yes there still seems to be manufacturing in the UK!

Good, sticky, quiet & comfortable tires. Wear rate not so good though and really poor if you get caught out in icy conditions (note it is a summer tire but my experience was “memorable”).

I am really pleased with this tire. Previous Goodyear Excellence – on this car – were really well balanced but wore out in 22K to 24K miles (front pair), becoming really hard during the latter stages. Grip on compacted snow was non-existent. The A001s have been good all year round (though the last few winters have not been too bad) and lasted 32K miles. Hope the second set is as good.
