Peugeot 108 Tire Review Highlights

End of life review of this tire. It's been performing well for the first 3 years of use, with good traction overall. It is wearing very evenly and after around 30.000km it is down to 5,5mm and that's impresive. Granted it;s a small and light city vehicle that doesn't wear the tires fast, but they lasted better than the previous continental eco contact 5.

In it's 4th summer now and the first signs of dry rot appeared, followed by loss in grip. The tire spins easy, abs engages often and it doesn't seem safe anymore. It is expected here (Greece) that after 4-5 years you will have to change tires due to hot weather and the intense sunlight, but these tires seem like they fall of a cliff after the 3rd year. Will probably buy again depending on availability and price.

Overall I've been happy with these tires. They've sat quite happily on a little Peugeot 108. I've bought 3 pairs rotating the rears to the front when fronts are worn - ~30k miles a set.

Handling, noise, wet, dry all have been totally fine, even under spirited driving. I've had little hairline cracks appear in the sidewall with 2mm remaining, but forgiveable as the this pair is 3 years old.

Considering these are often 1/2 the cost of Pirelli / Continental but are actually safe to drive unlike the Nakiomo Ditchfinders and other Chinese tat, I think they are a good value proposition.

Would I put these on a Civic Type R to do a lap on the Nuremberg ring, obviously not. But worth a consideration if you want a mid tier option for a std passenger car.

Bought a set of those to replace the Continental EcoContact 5 that were fitted from factory to the car and were not really satisfied with even when they were new. With the Hankook the car felt a lot better. Grip in dry was significantly improved and the car didn't slip when starting from a standstill. Wet grip is ok but not superb, although I'm sure it's the roads in my city that are in bad condition that cause the low grip. I don't drive the car aggressively but I had to make occasional evasive maneuvers and emergency braking to which the tires responded safely. The only small disadvantage is the comfort, they feel a little more firm than the Contis. Comfort was also reduced further at temperatures below 10 C. Wear after 1 year and 10.000 Km is non existent, the tires still look like new. I live in northern Greece were the roads are not very grippy and do not cause a lot of tire wear. I would definitely buy them again and would recommend to anyone driving a small city car like the 108, the C1, the aygo or anything similar.

Fitted to a Peugeot 108. Excellent snow tire, much better than the Bridgestones I had before. A bit noisy, but winters always are. Soft sidewalls so very comfortable, but I run these 3psi above normal and they are great. Used all season (3000 miles) and worn down about 1.5mm, so they'll do 3 seasons. I'll but the new model (4) next time, highly recommended.
