Chevrolet camaro Tire Review Highlights
Writing about the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 given 90% (245-40-20)
These tires came with the new car in 2016 they have been every thing I would hope for on a sports car , I have not raced the car but have done my share of fun driving , It sticks to the road like its on rails. Have not had any other tires on this car but need to get new ones this summer. These are runflats, not sure if I will get the runflats again but had no trouble with them . Most of the time the car was used in warm sunny weather with the top down, and some cooler nights and some wet weather as well no snow and or ice ever. never on gravel just paved streets and highways. Mostly driving at posted speed limits that very from one place to another.

Writing about the Toyo Proxes CF2 given 75% (215-60-16)
The tires were already mounted on my 2002 Camaro. Only 4 years old they already start to show small cracks on the whole tire.

99% I agree with the car magazine test regarding performance. Quiet, low rolling resistance. Wet performance disappointing.

Not a bad tire but those cracks came quite early.

Will change them to all season tires.

Writing about the Bridgestone Potenza RE 71RS given 69% (295-35-18)
Driving on track for 2300 miles
A tire that can do autocross and track days.
the 71RS warms up fairly quick and has good grip, more temp has a small drop off in grip, but it levels off.
Means you have 1-2 flyer track laps then times will drop 1 second or so.
but it levels off and you can PSH hard without any lap time increases.
track days do increase the tire's hardness, and that makes warming up for autocross harder.
the RS71RS at 75F sitting are about 55 on the durometer
after 113 autocross laps and 15x 20min track secessions, the durometer at 75F is about 70.
A BIG increase in hardness. at that point it's a track only tire or you need LOTS of temp to get any grip back.
113 autocross laps and 15x 20min track secessions and not corded yet, a durable tire.
-3.5 camber +6.0 caster Zero toe on a 1992 Camaro.
Rear end is a Solid axle
wet grip is bad unless you can get the tire warm
the A052 will still win out in low temps and rain conductions
the RE71RS tend to work better on heavier cars, 3,000lbs+
The lightweight cars like Miata 's tend to favor the A052

Driving on track for 1000 spirited miles
1992 camaro
18x11 S71 Forged wheels
295/35r18

Autocross:
no a good tire to use as a single driver
warm up is semi slow compared to the A052
unless it's 80F+ out a A052 user will beat you
they have turbo stiff side walls that make them a good choice for FWD cars or cars that can't add a lot of camber
I run -3.2 camber and could probably get away with -3.0
hot days are pretty good
tire likes be be around 120F-125F with a pyrometer

Track:
they warm up quick, and go 2-3 Hero laps
then fall out 1-2 seconds
but they stabilize and you can drive flat out from then on out
wear is pretty good

These re71RS have more lateral grip than braking and acceleration.
they don't seem to like combining both acceleration and turning
A052 and Hosier A7 seem way more tolerant of that.
steering is very quick
feedback is good

Driving on mostly country roads for 4500 spirited miles
I have had these on my summer car for 2 seasons, and I have done some track work on them. They hold up great on track, they do well in the wet, and they are more comfortable than the Goodyears which came on the car.

Writing about the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar 3 given 74% (285-30-20-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 25 spirited miles
Tire is very good on dry roads but must slow down in wet weather. Hydroplaning happens on standing water or heavy rain.
Tire is pretty good for warm weather autocross but typically run 3 is fastest as the tires need heat for peak grip. In cool weather, it is difficult to warm the tires sufficiently for competitive times.
Tire is quite good for track use, handles heat quite well. Might not be the fastest tire but definitely is consistent for multiple laps.

Writing about the Yokohama Advan A052 given 70% (295-30-18-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 3000 spirited miles
Ran 141 Autocross ish laps over 21 events. (on 3rd set of A052s)
Corded the pass side last event.
-295/30R18s on 18x11s, fit perfectly
Even nearly bald, the A052 had tons of grip left.
After 50 runs the tires lost about 0.5 seconds vs new.
After 100 runs they lost about 1 second but leveled off. No grip was lost from about 100 to 241 runs.
Tires need 1 good heat cycle before they really start griping well.
Note: THESE ARE NOT TRACK DAY TIRES!
they will overheat and grease off within 2-3 laps at a track.

Wet:
in damp ground these tires are KING at the Autocross or road course. The wet grip is unbelievable.
BUT, deep standing water defeats them like any other tire.
The A052 excel at low temps. I ran a damp rain event at 37F and the Yoks had zero issues.

Dry: again, 2021-2024 Solo nationals showed the A052 dominating the field. The dry grip as of 2024 is #1.
They warm up FAST. 1 run is all you need and the other 3 runs are all 100% flat out.
BUT, you can overheat the tires easily.
Start the run at 110-115F tire temp, and you'll have a good lap. Start above that and the tires will grease off before you finish a 50sec lap.
Tires loose a TON of grip over 135F.
Copious amounts of water Spraying is needed for hot days or dual drivers. I've used a 2 gallon sprayer and ran out before I got 8 runs in

Wear:
I got 141 ish runs over 21 events.
These tires need TONs of camber.
They have soft side walls and EAT shoulders without good camber
A minimum of -2.0 and ideally -3.0+
I know guys running -5.0 camber.

Writing about the Yokohama Advan Neova AD09 given 44% (225-45-17-)
I have RWD car, over 500HP, they do not hook for the life of it in first or second gear in WOT unless you baby the throttle. They are okay for daily driving, that's about it. Would not buy it for high HP car or track use, was very disappointed in performance. Will not buy again, once they are done will switch to something else.

Although i cant give a wear rating due to only having them 5k miles, they are really good in dry and wet roads. I have this on my 2013 camaro ss. I do drive it a bit aggressive aswell as living in gravel road i probably wont be able to give an accurate wear rating through its whole life. I will definitely buy these again.

Writing about the Pirelli P Zero Corsa given 51% (285-35-20-W)
Driving on track for 5000 spirited miles
Just when I thought I saw it all..... They cost me a good fortune, but unfortunately, all hype and no action. Pirelli should be ashamed to even attempt to sell this tire for high horsepower applications. Even after extensive tire warm up and correct tire pressure (tried lower as well), this tire is dreadful in warm temp dry weather.. All total bs that this tire is a semi slick tire. I do not recommend for the street and especially not the track. Grip drops off very quickly and if you drive a high horsepower (e.g., over 600 hp) car, don't expect any grip of the line. Its a very hard dry compound. The contrary to what I was seeking. Cup 2s provide triple the traction these do. Stick to cup 2! So disappointed after purchasing these corsa tires.

Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 spirited miles
Possibly the worst tire I have ever tried. Dry grip even after extensive warm up is absolutely horrible. If you have a high hp muscle car, stay far away from this tire. You will be very disappointed! Acceleration traction is simply dreadful. Although rated as a semi-slick, any tire can compete with this. I went from a Michelin pilot super sport and it was light years better in dry grip. Again, worst tire ever tested and my advice is to simply stay away from it.
