Uniroyal RainSport 3 Reviews - Page 22

Given 91% while driving a Peugeot 206 1.4 90hp (195/50 R15 V) on a combination of roads for 600 average miles
Originally had the Rainsport 2 on before which were still a great tire but these are on another level. Dont ever expect a tire to handle in the dry and wet immediately let them bed in first with normal driving. After over 200/300 miles the Grip is outstanding wet or dry. Well recommended. Im still handling corners quicker than my friend in his Astra 1.6 with Pilot Sports.

Excellent tires. had them on my golf for about 2 months and the grip is amazing. In the wet the grip is a million times better than my falkens I had on before, It's never let go yet! would certainly recommend to anyone.

very good for the price, I had Dunlop sport maxx Rt previous and Pirelli pzero before that and these are better in my opinion, very surprised and pleased will be using them again !!

I had RS2's and was super impressed by their grip in the wet, so naturally wanted to try out the new range, especially at the price offered by Camskill (£54 per corner)

Initial impressions were that the asymmetric pattern looks weird on the passenger side as the pattern appears as though it would cause aquaplaning, however in practice it does not. They skidded around a little at first but after running them in they have started to grip much better.

I find these tires to be upgrades in every way but overall grip on the RS2's. They are very good in the wet, where standing water is concerned but not so good when there is grease around (still not bad, don't get me wrong).

My feeling is for the money they are great. Compared with other tires they are very good overall, but they seem to perform as well in the dry as they do in the wet, which seems odd to me. Surely they should have better dry grip.

They sidewalls are harder, the feedback is loads better, they are somewhat progressive and they are quiet too. I think that Uniroyal have answered all of the complaints about the RS2's with some expense of grip.

Good but not great, and my reason for saying this is that I value the feedback above all else on a tire. You would only ever notice this when taking your car to the limit, and you can find that limit on a clio by cornering hard and getting one rear wheel off the ground, which with these tires you would never be able to do unless you are braking hard into a turn.

If I buy budget tires again, I'll probably choose Federal SS595's but I would rate these tires ahead of the Falken FK452's. They aren't really up to the standards of high end premium tires in my opinion however.

Took off the OE Pirelli P7 Cinturato and was satisfied with the tire overall, but the grip was poor in wet weather.

As I do many miles per year, I was recommended by Discounttires.ie to try this new Uniroyal Rain Sport 3. After reviewing the Rain Sport 2, I went with the RS3 at €160 ea fitted, as they were cheaper than other tob brands and were A rated for wet grip.

After a few hundred miles, I was disappointed initially with the detached feedback from the steering wheel, while cornering hard on the twisty bits. But the wet grip was fantastic. It was like being on rails. Now after 2,000 miles, the steering feedback is improving weekly. This tire suits my driving style and my wallet.

I am very interested to see how long they last and what impact they have on my fuel consumption being E rated. But so far, the RS3 is impressive.

Amazing grip in the wet, very responsive on turn-in and there is no sudden loss of traction on the limit. The sidewalls are ridiculously soft compared to any other tire I have ever had before, this is probably how they generate so much grip in wet situations however owing to this plus the soft compound of the rubber there is a lot of inner edge wear if you like hot footing it around the twisty bits and dont have an lsd!

Overall I was very happy with them and @ £36 a corner from Camskill you really can't get much better for less.

Unbelievable grip an all 4 wheels... no signs of intense wear or aquaplanning even when on the limit...i just keep banging on the rev limiter and nothing happens!
I will for sure buy again..
Excellent value for money also

I recently fitted these tires to my car and they replaced a set of Dunlop SP Sport Fast response which I had owned from new. First impressions, compared to the Dunlop they give better steering feel, however the ride seems to be slightly smoother. This is with the tires inflated to the same pressures.
They have been on the car now for around 500 miles, so have scrubbed in nicely. At the beginning wet and dry grip wasn't anything special, but now they perform very well in this respect. They are at least equal to the Dunlops in outright grip in both wet and dry conditions, however one thing they do better is clear standing water.
Noise wise they are very quiet, again simililar to the Dunlops.
I haven't tried them on snow, but I am not expecting them to be too great as they are a summer tire, also with wear it is too early to say how they will last as it is still early days. They feel like a fairly soft compound, however when new the treads are relatively deep (11-12mm) so overall life should be similar to most harder tires.
If there is one thing I can fault is that the treads seem to pick up stones very easily, so I am always having to remove them to prevent ticking noises. This will probably not happen as much as the tread wears away.
So overall I think this is an excellent tire, in my size there are some really good deals available. They are cheaper than most other mid range tires, yet they perform as well as many premium ones.

The tread pattern looks awesome and having used rainsport 2 in the past these are definitely a step up.

The wet grip is brilliant and the dry grip awesome and at £135 from camskill you just can't go wrong.

This is the wet king tire the new rainmaster full stop with a capital F.

Having used Rainsport 2 on a MK2 Skoda Octavia Vrs and a VW Caddy it really is the only tire i use, living in Scotland rain isnt very far away.

Having bought a new (to me) car in the summer first thing i wanted changed in time for winter was the horrendous Michelin Primacy HP not only are they very loud but wet grip was poor and the cost to replace was astronomical!!

Looking on Google for a slight glimmer of hope for Rainsport 3's i was blown away when Tire reviews reported that indeed Uniroyal (Continental Tires AG) have released the RS3

Quick email to Camskill and bought 4 tires at 225/45/17, initial 50-150 miles were iffy and i put all tires in this range for scrubbing them in, now done 340 miles and the grip and strangely MPG and noise are incredible, 5 mpg overall is gained, the wet grip is mind bending, and the quietness is nothing short of satisfying.

I urge anyone to buy these tires, i cant give info on wear so have gave it 5 stars.
