Uniroyal RainSport 3 Reviews - Page 21

Given 84% while driving a Saab Automobile 9 3 SE Turbo (215/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 3,500 average miles
Bought RS3 for my wifes Saab 9-3 convertible.
Have always used uniroyals for all my cars and these have stood up to my expectations. Slipping 220 remapped horses through them they grip whether rain or shine.
I find the sidewalls a little soft but overinflating them slightly helps.
All in all cant fault them. Will be making a purchase for my own saab aero shortly.

Given 100% while driving a Volkswagen Mk3 Cabriolet 2.0 (225/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 1,200 spirited miles
After having no grip with the cheap tires I had a crash while drive in wet conditions.
Took care of the damage and swore myself to never save on brakes and tires again!

After I bought Rainsport 2, I've read that there was a new tire named "Rainsport 3".
Also hear that Rs2 worn very fast and thought I should try out the new ones.

And what a upgrade it is! In dry and wet even better that the good Rs2!
I have a VW Golf 3 2.0 Cabriolet and sadly no abs brake system but when it rains and I put my foot to the brake paddle the car doesn't even slip! Just amazing grip!

They say that the Continental Sportcontact 5 is a better tire than the Rs3 but the only thing so far I heart is that the Conti is better in dry but not in the wet.
I think in dry conditions you allready have a good grip but you need the best when conditions are very bad like heavy rain.

I don't know the wear of the new Rs3 but when I know I will update my review.

This is the best Tires I have tried sofar and for the price you can't go wrong either!

Given 86% while driving a Alfa Romeo 156 2.0 litre TS Sp3 (205/55 R16 W) on a combination of roads for 4,000 easy going miles
Great tires in every way, except that they wear out very fast. Despite having the tracking on my car set to 0º as recommended on Alfa forums and driving carefully the tires have already lost 2mm of tread at the front in only 4000 miles. I guess that is the price you pay for excellent all round performance. They are not too expensive to replace however at around £50 per corner in my size.

Given 97% while driving a Saab Automobile 9 3 Aero 2.8T V6 (225/45 R17) on mostly town for 2,000 spirited miles
Excellent tires, replaced my neuton nt5000's on the front that were completely overwhemled by the power and torque. The difference is night and day with the rainsports, extremely good in the wet and dry, far better feel and less tramlining. Will keep buying these for as long as they make them.

Given 93% while driving a Daihatsu (185/55 R15 H) on a combination of roads for 3,000 average miles
Replaced Hankook on the front & Minerva on the rear, an "interesting" combination as small front wheel drive car oversteered quite readily when not wanted.
Have previously had Uniroyal Rain Expert, these Rainsport 3 tires have transformed the car, quiet, good grip in dry & excellent when road damp or wet. The car steers where you pint it with no understeer at all at normal speeds, progressively loses grip if pressing on too fast. Fuel economy fine, I prefer a tire to grip well & be reasonably quiet & consider low rolling resistance tires to make a virtue out of what is really a fault, grip will undoubtedly suffer.
Would thoroughly recommend & will buy again, bought Rain Expert for my daughters Ford Ka too, premium tire at a sensible price.

These tires are fantastic in every way gripping, had bridge-stones before and they were gd lasted a good 10k miles, the rainsport 3 I have worn out in under 2 k :( no tracking issues, just very soft grippy tires that wear badly

Given 96% while driving a Mazda MX5 (215/45 R17 W) on a combination of roads for 3,000 spirited miles
Changed onto the rs3 after removing winter tires and believe they are absolutely top class . coupled with ebc green stuff the braking and traction is top class. Car feels like it's on rails in all weather . very happy with my choice.

Given 80% while driving a Audi A3 (225/45 R17 W) on mostly town for 0 easy going miles
Very soft tires. Changed from Michelin and they are much more comfy. And quiet. Very quiet. I seem to drive much more easily, used to accelerate a lot and drive harder, but not with those tires, they´re like, lets go and cruise around, not like, lets race. :) Ofcource if you need they can go fast around corners. Seems like they just have very good grip :) Even on wet/damp you can push harder around corners. Propably couse of the rubber, thats just so soft like winter tires, but with nice enormuos grooves. Hope they wont wear out too fast.

Given 93% while driving a Vauxhall Astra 1.9 cdti 150hp (225/40 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 14,000 average miles
I have had rainsports 2 in the past & i can not highly rate this tire enough, i purchase all my tires from camskill :) 2 x rainsports 3 in march for the fronts, so my rainsports 2 went on the back, overall i find the rainsports 3 better in terms of grip, dry/wet, & a lot less noise from the RS3, I have 225 40 18 92Y XL on the RS3 & RS2.

But for one strange reason the RS2 seem to look lower in height/diameter compared to the RS3? must be something to do with the shark skin technology making the RS3 look higher.

Every time i need tires its all ways Rainsports 2 or 3 for me, I have used falkens in the past on the same vehicle & the falkens aint got a patch on the rainsports 2 or 3 :)

Given 90% while driving a Volvo Volvo C70 LPT 2.0 Manual (225/50 R16 W) on a combination of roads for 100 average miles
I put these tires on the front of my C70 this morning. As soon as I drove out of the tire dealers lot I noticed a difference - *much* less road noise and the car felt much more "grounded" and stable.

The tires replaced were Pirelli P7. They had been getting progressively harder and noisier the last couple of thousand miles making the car much less enjoyable to drive.

Granted, I've only put about 100 miles on it but I'm in love..=*^)

The car feels rock steady at speed and feels like it sucks itself into the road when cornering at speed thru roundabouts and curvy country roads. And it is so much quieter - bliss!

The rear tires are only 50% worn (Pirelli P6000) but they are going. I will order two more Rainsport 3's tomorrow!

I'll update this review once I've done 1,000 miles on the tires.

Given 93% while driving a Peugeot 407 Coupe (235/45 R18) on mostly motorways for 4,000 spirited miles
Bought these as I do a lot of motorway driving. I had kumho's on the car before these and I found the car skitting when hitting standing water. These rainsport are phenomenal in the wet. In the dry they are very good. I now have such confidence driving in the rain.
