I was very unipressed with this tire. It grips very well in the dry, but in the wet I only found the grip to be average. It also does not like stsnding water, with straight line aquaplaning felt on the motorway at 70mph even when new. Turn in is quite imprecise and it wears quite fast.
Tire is fair value but there are better tires around for similar money.

Very soft with very high wear rates. Good traction in wet with effective water disposal through grooves even when worn. Quite a bouncy feel similar to some yokohama tires.

These tires are just OK, nothing more. Mine must have been stored in a wrong position or something because they VIBRATE at speeds above 60mph what makes them useless. I had Dunlop SP9000 before and they were better.

A good value for money tire.
I bought a pair last year to get me through the MoT on the advice of other MGF drivers, as the F can be very fussy about tires. Fit the wrong ones and you are spinning into a hedge.
These tires suit my car and my driving. The wet and dry grip is good (on a par with the GSD2s I have on the front)the feedback is excellent, they are very progressive. My only complaint is the wear rate, but then again these are a very soft tire.
Well recommended.

Was expecting better from the Toyo T1Rs to be honest, having replaced a pair of Avon ZZ3s. Actually, they seemed very similar to the Avons. They're OK, don't get me wrong, but just not as grippy as I'd hoped. Lasted OK, about 10k miles.

Purchased a CTR sep 2004 brand new.OE B'stones 040 were very good in warm dry conditions.Medium compound and stiff sidewalls gave the car a very nice go-karty feel in its performance.Downside was excessive understeer in damp/wet conditions which was one reason i switched to the Toyo T1-R which is far better in wet conditions but not as good in dry.As a new tire i immediately noticed the cars dry grip reduced but as i read in another review that they vastly improved with mileage was true and am now more confident with them in all conditions.

After my Michelin Sports wore out on the rear, I decided to try the Toyos because of the price & good reviews. When I first drove the car from the tire shop the back end was so squirly and soft I thought they forgot to put air in! Checked the pressures and they were correct so I drove to my favorite local twisty road and my M3 felt like a Buick! Very soft sidewalls compared to the Michelins...which I am putting back on tomorrow.

Very happy with these, a big improvement on the Goodyear SO3s I had before. Grip in the dry is excellent and I feel more confident getting the power down coming out of bends e.g. off a roundabout. Wet grip seems perfectly adequate, not really pushed it for obvious reasons. The biggest difference I noticed is that the softer sidewall seems more appropriate for the low weight of the Griff and the uprated springs I have. The ride is much less harsh which as well as being more comfortable also improved the handling and allowed me to reduce the damping quite considerably. The SO3s just seemed to introduce some horrible resonances unless I had the damping right up and then it felt like a track car on the road.
I can't comment on wear rate yet but unless it turns out to be terrible I will probably consider them again.

Greats tires. Just fitted them to my WRX. The only comparable tire i have driven on would be yoko's. The toyo TR-1 gives a lot more confidence in the cars handling. Where some tires sweak on bends, the TR1's make a really cool scrooossh noise (like darh vader breahing lol).. you can literally hear it gripping the road. very impressive. Great in wet too.

Don't feel these are as good as the T1-S which they don't seem to make anymore but still a good tire. Not as good as the Bridgestone S-03's the car came with but also a lot cheaper. Don't feel they make that much difference on the front so have stuck with Nasty Nangkangs which last ages. Seem a waste of money at front as don't last that long and don't make that much difference. on the rear however wouldn't try another tire unless Bridgestone decided to make the s03 potenza again!!!!!!!!

A soft tire, a very progressive tire, not especially grippy but good for the money and a nice safe tire for fast road work. Sidewalls seem to give up the ghost early on on track and roll off the rim severely, wear on track is high too, not the best track tire for more experienced users but the progressive nature makes them good for less experienced track gods.
