Performance Analysis
Drawn from 7 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.
The Petlas Imperium PT515 has recurring braking and handling weaknesses across its seven summer tests, with tread life the clearer strength. It finished last of ten in Vi Bilagare 2022 and 14th of 15 in ADAC 2021. Vi Bilagare recorded last place for both dry braking, 37.9m, and wet braking, 38.2m, with the latter 33.6% longer than best. ADAC 2023 placed it 37th of 50 for wet braking at 43.6m, 26.7% longer than best. Auto Bild 2024 was less severe in relative terms, with wet braking 27th of 55, but still 21.7% longer than best.
Wear results were better: third of 15 with 41,600km predicted life in ADAC 2021, and eighth of 50 with 47,500km in ADAC 2023. The latter also found fourth-best cost per kilometer. These running-cost positives sit beside repeated criticism of evasive control and wet handling, while fuel consumption and rolling resistance were weak in the detailed tests. Noise has an unusual exception: Vi Bilagare 2022 praised low noise on rough asphalt and good shock absorption, whereas ADAC 2021 criticised noise and ADAC 2023 measured the loudest result, 73.6dB. The surface-specific praise does not establish consistently quiet running.

2022 ViBilagare Eco vs Normal Tire Test
Turkish Petlas offers one of the cheapest products you can find online. But Imperium PT515 is NOT an affordable solution. This is like throwing money in the lake. The stopping distance on wet asphalt is a full 33 feet longer than the best tires from 50 mph. In the evasive maneuver tests on dry roads, the Petlas tires can’t neutralize the lateral forces but have major problems with the load shift effect, which means that the tire skids wide and becomes difficult to control. On wet roads, it moods alternately between understeer into the curve followed by an oversteer in the middle of the turn. Budget tires often fitted on older, cheaper cars with poorer crash safety. It is a life-threatening combination. Save money on something other than the tires.
2021 ADAC Summer Tire Test - 205/55 R16
The Petlas Imperium PT515 is particularly during dry braking, stopping the car a full 15 feet after the best on test. The tire also has poor handling. The trend continues in the wet, with long wet braking and weak handling results. The PT515 also has high levels of noise and high rolling resistance.
