The evidence behind the verdict

For the 2020 Auto Express all season tire test, Auto Express tested six 225/45 R17 all season tires using a VW Golf.

Unfortunately due to travel restrictions Auto Express couldn't complete the dry handling test, however the rest of the test is as thorough as usual, covering dry, wet and snow braking, wet circle and wet handling, and snow traction and snow handling.

As usual we'll keep our coverage to a minimum, instead encouraging you to head over to the Auto Express website to check out the full test, also be sure to check out the Tire Reviews All Season Tire Test, which covers these tires and more, and a reference summer and winter tire in the same size.
