When I bought my Audi Quattro last year I didn't even think to check the tires but when I did I was gutted. I specifically bought this Quattro for the wet and wintery conditions and to learn my car had cheap budget tires I was pretty jaded.
Having just had its MOT and with the Tires with almost full tread i've been told all 4 tires are splitting on the inside wall.
Continentals will be replacing these and hope to get the enjoyment out of the car I had hoped for.
One thing I can say and this may be more to do with the car than teh tire but I get zero slippage when pulling away in the wet. Even with hard revs. I suspect this is down to the Quattro system though.

I have experienced many tires of the years of different sizes on different vehicles, but the Avon's ZV5 are in a class of thier own. On my Quattro A3 the car in normally front wheel drive until the electronics experiance wheel slip and then send power to the rears as well. This used to happen a lot but these tires grip so much I hardly ever see the traction control light come on. I am very hard on tires, with a mix of A roads and back roads and as my car has been chipped to 210bhp I am always driving it like I stole it! The previous tires were Pirelli P Zero's and although the rears were doing well, the fronts wore out in less than 8k miles and although they had an A rating for wet grip and these are a C, I recon these are far better. I highly recomend these to all and at this price, they are a real bargin.

After the first 300 miles and the tires had bedded in they seem excellent. Dry grip is very good, wet grip is very good. Have now taken off for winter so once have done a few more thousand after spring will update. The only down side is the wear. But if you want grip thats gonna happen. From the amount they have worn so far if they continue t owear the same there going to last 7500 miles. I was hoping for about 9/10k but never mind. Will probably buy these again. (these are the MO rated ones which have an A for wet grip rating)

I bought the car second hand with those tires on the front and Dunlop Sport Maxx TT on the rear. There's a big difference between those two.
EfficientGrip make car boring and unpredictable to drive, but the mileage is good. There's not much road feedback and the traction control kicks in every time I accelerate (scary on wet). Perhaps those tires are not suitable for a performance car and would be more suitable for a family hatchback driven at 30mph around the town?
They are also very very noisy.

standard tires on a3 quattro ,rear tires down to tread bars on both outsides, wont be buying same tire to replace.

These tires have been brilliant although road noise can be a factor. Great in both wet and dry but to be honest, I should have replaced them 5000 miles ago a the last 5000 miles have not felt so good, despite the tires having greater than 1.6 mm tread depth.
I've driven a lot int he snow with the quattro working well and the tires handled things perfectly on all but the worst roads.
Going for Continental Sport Conact 3 next as they promise lower road noise...we'll see.
