Vauxhall Vectra cdti (150) Tire Review Highlights
The Bridgestone Blizzard neither gripped as well or lasted as well as my other winter tires. Particularly lacked grip very badly on wet roads which became greasy after night frost had thawed in the day. I think what happened is it slipped more than my other tires and because of that it actually became polished when on the front of my front wheel drive vectra estate cdti 150 where it was balanced by a Hankook winter due to the frequent slipping of the Bridgestone. It was so bad that I swapped the Nokians I had on the back. Once I had put the Nokians on the front I had great grip again, it seems that on this car I need really good grippy tires on the front and the rears are less important, which is not consistent with other advice I have had to put best tires on the back. That advice would seem sensible for a rear wheel drive car. I think a critical thing is to have balanced tires on each side to avoid one slipping more and becoming polished at times when the roads are extra greasy and slippery. This Bridgestone also wore a lot more quickly than the others, probably due to the regular spinning due to it not coping compared to the other tires.

I had these tires for 4 winters and then left them on the car last summer to 'use them up'. I found them absolutely fine in the dry but by the time they were below the winter tire depth limit they were poor in the wet. lasted at least 30,000 miles but only good for winter use for 4 winters and ~15,000 miles. I have replaced the with the new Avon winter tire WV7

I do self- employed motorway miles. When I buy a car I make sure it will take economy tires as I drive conservatively to get the last penny's worth out of everything. Always aim to go at least twice round the clock. Took a rear tire in with a slow puncture, which was a nail, but both outside longditudinal grooves had cracked right round so the dealer could flex the tire inside out by hand. I replaced both Sunew tires even though they had plenty of miles left in them. Have used economy tires for years but never seen anything like this. False economy and potentially lethal. The dealer gave me nonsense about the state of the roads as he had sold them to me in the first place. Front tires fine, also economy but different make.

i have this tires fitted all round on a vecta hatchback 1.9 cdti, the car is lowered considerably and is tuned to 197bhp and over 300lbs/ft of torque. i have found these tires to be exceptional, the dry grip for a road tire is outstanding and the wet performance i have found to be unbelievably good. i originally only has these fitted to the front but had to fit 2 to the rear as the overbalance of front grip would swing the back out on a wet roundabout with worrying ease. a perfect tire for british weather! i cannot really comment on comfort or noise as my car is extremely uncomfortable no matter the tire and with the other noises emanating from my car i cant really say if they are a noisy tire but they arnt excessively noisy. the wear rate as with any soft sports tire like this is high. unfortunately if you want grip uou have to pay a price, its just one of those things. would i buy them again? if i can afford to, most certainly!

Bought these as I was on a tight budget at the time, and MOT was nearing. If youre planning on driving around the city or at low speeds then this is the tire for you. Anything else then forget about any kind of grip on the road.
20000 miles ago I put them on the front of my diesel vctra, and have just put them on to the back. There is still about 3-4mm of tread left in them.
Hard compound which wears very well, however if it gets wet the grip is diabolical, almost dangerous. Avoid if you can afford to

I bought a set of Rainsports when I moved to the countyside where you often get large puddles and water running off fields etc as well as the roads being narrow and windy. They are excellent. So good in fact that I bought a second set of wheels and put Uniroyal's snow and ice (SP66) version on them for the winter (it usually snows where I live) and they were also very impressive. In my opinion they do what they say on the tin.

Absolutely awsome.
By far the best tires i've ever owned on a car. Longevity (28k miles on front), qiuet, smooth, great grip in the dry and for the first time ever never caught out in the wet.
Negatives - well, i guess you get what you pay for as there expensive.
Swapped out for a pair of Nexen N Blue eco's so we'll see if the michelins really are twice as good.

These tires started off performing excelent, however after 6 months the noise like others have experienced has become totally unbearable!! would never buy again because of this!!

Barum? lol never heard of them.
They came fitted to my Vectra 1.9 CDTi Estate and I have to admit they're a damn site better than the Pirelli P7 I had.
I do 800 miles a week, mostly motorways, and they just don't rub out, very, very hard wearing.
Very good dry grip, I take some of these motorway slip bends at silly speeds (sorry) and they've never even hinted that they want to skip.
Wet grip seems very good too, though I don't push it too hard in the wet.
Useless in the snow, as you would expect from a summer tire.
Compared to the P7, they're very quiet.

A GREAT YEAR ROUND TYRE.
These tires have been GREAT in all weather conditions. I had them fitted 2years ago and have done just over 20k. (Rotated approx 5-6k ago) and still have another 1-2k in them.
Particularly impressed with its performance in the snow/ice – the grip was always there, felt controlled and safe. It handled hills and snow/ice covered roads no problem (left other cars sliding!)
Had a little trouble at first with the balancing giving some wobble (3 garages tried to smooth it out but failed)- so put on the rear for 1k but have been fine since!
I'm a young driver and have given the tires a thrashing on occasion and they have never let go.
Road noise is the only let down, slightly more than I've had in the past (Continental Contact 2's) and seems to be slightly harder but when a tire lasts 25k+ and the performance has never failed what more can you want!
…I just wish they weren't £140+ per corner!
