BMW 230i Tire Review Highlights

Driving on a combination of roads for 500 miles
Previously my BMW 220i Coupe (G42) with M-Sport Pro Pack (19” upgraded alloys) was on OE Pirelli P Zero (*) from factory and were very good in all respects. Decided to go Michelin this time and very pleased with the decision as these OE PS4S are in another league. Dry grip, steering feel, cornering and overall driving experience is at another level and surpasses the P Zeros in every respect.

I cannot comment for wet handling yet as we are having some great sunshine in the UK and neither for wear, as only been on my car for x3 weeks. Overall, these tires have significantly improved the driving experience of my BMW and they are much more comfortable than the P Zeros on both motorways and local roads, especially over rougher roads. These tires are standard fitment on the M240i and they definitely provide a massive improvement on the 220i and same if you have the 230i, so would highly recommend getting these when you’re ready for replacement. 100% from me so far!

Driving on a combination of roads for 600 spirited miles
This tire is such a wonderful surprise. There are not much sporty road tires for 18" so before this one i had PS4. It's a good tire but there is nothing sporty about it, the F1 SS is night and day over the PS4 in Dry grip, feedback and handling (No rain yet where I live so can't comment on wet grip, but I live in a hot country so wet is not much issue). If you are on 18" and want a sporty tire for road use? this is the one to chose. It is indeed a fun tire like Jonathan said in his review. Love this tire.

Driving on mostly town for 100 average miles
If there was a score of 0 , this tire would earn it for snow and ice. Right out of my driveway, I'm skidding all over the place. Coming to a stop, my ABS is working overtime. Light turns green and I can't get traction, I'm slipping sideways. Light snow on the highway at 50mph is a white-knuckled shit-show.
These tires are terrible. I felt safer on my all-seasons in the snow.

Driving on mostly motorways for 30000 spirited miles
These came as standard fit on my 230i, 225/40/18/88Y fronts and 245/35/18/88Y rears. First time I have experienced Bridgestone run flats. Dry grip was very good, wet grip nothing more than average. However the first thing I noticed was the noise - very loud. Had Michelin PS2 ZP on my E92 325i and that tire was so much quieter and offered far better wet grip. Back to the Bridgestones and wear is very good, got over 30K from rears and still a few mm of tread left on the fronts. Most of my mileage is motorways but does include quite a few spirited B road blasts. Wouldn't buy again, and will look for something a little softer with better wet weather grip and hopefully a bit quieter.
