Questions and Answers for the Davanti DX390
Ask a questionReview Summary
Based on 28 user reviews
Driver feedback on the Davanti DX390 is mixed, with a meaningful group praising it as a good-value budget tire that can be quiet, comfortable, and reasonably grippy in normal dry (and sometimes wet) driving. However, a substantial number of lower-scoring reviews describe poor wet-weather traction and sudden loss of grip that hurts confidence and, for some, feels unsafe. Noise/harshness and general refinement are also recurring complaints, though not universal.
Strengths
- Good value for money / low purchase price
- Quiet and/or comfortable ride (for many drivers)
- Decent dry grip and everyday handling
- Wet grip reported as good by some higher-scoring users
Areas for Improvement
- Poor wet grip and low confidence in damp conditions (reports of sudden breakaway/skids)
- Can be noisy and/or ride harsh for some drivers
- Handling/stability can feel vague
- Floaty
- Or twitchy at speed

The downside is the noise. Turanza is much quieter than dx.

The garage that fitted them is a Davanti dealer, we hit a pot hole yesterday which damaged the sidewall. Garage replaced under the warranty scheme and only cost of 25% of the tire cost due to the tread wear.
I was in need of a front pair of tires and got let down by another supplier so was a little stuck. I deliberated having read some dire reviews of them but it's only a wee Audi A2 however it is a fine handling little car much to the surprise of many folk. Hankook Ventus Prime K125 all round prior to this. Those are great tires with dry and wet weather grip that is very progressive, wear rate impressive too and no noise unlike these Davanti's.
Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, they are bad. Initial impressions on dry roads I must admit was, these aren't too bad. They seem to be getting worse with a few hundred miles on them. They're coming off right away.
Don't buy!!!
