Uniroyal RainSport 3 Reviews - Page 12

These tires are awesome. I used to have to hold back in my rx8 at the slightest drop of rain. The back end would slide at any given chance and braking was nerve-wracking. These rainsport give unbelievable grip wet or dry. It's a different car with these tires and no matter how quickly they wear down I'll be getting another set.

TERRIBLE TYRES, put these on the rear of my Leon TFSI, (the XL extra load version by the way), went for a run in them and pulled up on the hard shoulder of the motorway not once but twice convinced my wheels were loose or I had a flat, but no. Continued with them over the next couple of weeks for 300 miles hoping they'd settle in perhaps the mould release agent etc etc, but no improvement, the car slides round bends and feels actually dangerous, had goodyear eagle F1's on before and was perfect, think I'll be taking these off and getting some more F1's maybe they didn't mix well with the F1's on the front but not taking a chance on them again, will not recommend this brand to anyone, the eagle F1s though are absolutely fantastic.

Good tire for price, fronts lasted 16000 miles on a Octavia VRs tdi before they needed replacing, rears are still only half worn if that. excellent wet grip dry grip just as good, one thing was the road noise in dry was more than expected from a good tire make but still acceptable.

used these on the rear - great once I read up and put maximum pressure in them (I usually run 2.1 bar rear but these are running 2.4bar!). sidewall too soft for my type of driving I'm afraid. BUT if you want an excellent wet tire for 'normal' use these should be great

Fitted these to my wifes Mini clubman S as I had previously had them fitted to my Audi RS4. They are an excellent tire for the money and few tires can match them in the wet. Road noise is also very good on them.
Like all tires what works on one car doesn't necessarily mean it will work for all, but at the cost of these they are well worth going for. The rate of wear is a little high, but then its a soft compound that enables high grip levels and its this that leads to the wear rate.
You could spend twice as much on a Michelin PSS or just buy 2 sets of these IF you find they wear out quickly. I still find it staggering that people put wear above grip. Frankly I'd rather know that when I take a corner in the wet or dry, or when I hit the brakes hard (in an emergency for instance) that my tires will not brake traction. These tires will out perform alot of higher priced tires, and will out perform alot of similarly priced tires that have lower wear rates.
I will definitely buy these again.

Mixed bag of everything.....dry-wet grip, confort =OK,.........soft side walls, wear rate is terrible.
Rear replaced at 16.000km, fronts should last to 20.000km - with some luck :) .

These are great tires in every way except wear rate which is abysmal!
Great road holding quiet confidence inspiring under all conditions. But can't live with the wear rate!

A6 estate diesel ... Front wheel drive ... Not bad for price .... Plenty of grip in wet ... Very stable in rain traveling 100MPH, makes you confident... The down side of rainsport 3 is wear - front ones lasted 9 months 12k miles , rear ones are in good shape expecting them

Brilliant in the wet, never had so much confidence when the weather is really bad. Made driving in the wet feel really safe as they never once aquaplaned on the motorway. Considering they are focused towards being a rain tire they are excellent in the dry too with good feedback and excellent grip despite the torque going through the front wheels.
Only drawback is that they have been really poor on their wear rate and have only managed 8,000 miles on them, disappointing considering that they have now also moved to be more inline on price with other tires. Would recommend them for their wet grip but if you are wanting them to last then i would avoid, will not be putting them on the car again and have just replaced the two fronts with Michelin Pilot Sport 4

Bought these tires in august 2014, replacing a couple of Fortuna F2900's, after those I decided I was gonna get some quality tires in the front particularly for in the wet as the previous ones were quite poor. These Uniroyal's didn't disappoint, excellent grip in the wet and good all round tires, don't cost the earth either, which is good as they are now quite worn out and ready for replacing, after 14,000 miles. I am however considering buying the Nexen SU4's next though given their good reviews on here.

Very impressed with these tires, I have done 2 track days with these in the dry and they perform very well, very progressive thanks to a fairly soft sidewall which could lead to more wear in the long run, but for my needs they have been great. You will only manage to get the back end loose buy driving like an idiot or clutch kicking and even then these tires seem to find grip wherever they can. I would say they perform better on the front than on the rear but that's just my opinion and would always buy these as a set of 4. Great at tire

A soft side wall led to premature wear to the outer edges of the tire which has resulted in a reduced life span. Other than that I was relatively happy with them for day to day use.
They will be replaced with something more performance orientated with a stiffer side wall.
