Performance Analysis

Drawn from 9 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.

Wet-road performance and aquaplaning resistance are the recurring strengths of the Uniroyal RainSport 2, while dry steering response limits its broader performance. Auto Bild praised aquaplaning reserves and short wet and dry stopping distances in 2011, when it finished fifth of ten. In the 2012 full test it was 13th of 15 despite good wet handling and aquaplaning results, with poor steering feel and heavy dry understeer. ADAC again called it particularly strong in the wet in 2013, but weaker on dry roads, with high fuel consumption and wear, leaving it 14th of 19.

Overall results vary considerably. Second of nine in the 2010 EVO test is an unusually strong finish compared with its mostly middle-to-lower full-test placings, while seventh of 50 in the 2012 Auto Bild braking comparison was much better than its subsequent full-test result. Those are different assessments, rather than evidence of uniformly strong handling. The 2010 Auto Express test also praised straight-line aquaplaning performance, supporting that particular strength despite eighth of 11 overall. Quietness and short dry braking received praise in the 2011 Auto Bild test, but the limited discipline measurements prevent a precise comparison of margins across the nine tests.
