The Petlas SnowMaster 2 Sport has a weaker record in snow braking than its dry stopping ability and fuel consumption suggest. Snow braking was 29th of 33 in Auto Bild 2024 and 28th of 31 in ADAC 2025, with ADAC also placing snow traction 28th of 31. Its 2026 Auto Bild snow-braking result was closer to the best at 3.1% behind, but still only 20th of 30. In the fuller ADAC comparison it finished 23rd of 31 and received a poor overall judgement, largely because of dry and snow handling.
ADAC criticised imprecise steering, repeated corrections and very low snow-handling limits, with early understeer or oversteer. Straight aquaplaning was 30th of 31, and predicted mileage 27th at 46,300 km. Dry braking was better at 12th of 31, while fuel consumption was joint lowest. Wet braking varied from 30th of 55 in Auto Bild 2024 to 17th of 50 in 2026, although the latter distance was still 19.4% longer than the best. The closer 2026 snow margin is more encouraging than the earlier results, but a braking-only comparison does not resolve the handling concerns identified by ADAC.
