The tire itself is fine, with great grip, easy side to side transition, great braking. <br />
Handling in the wet is quite good, almost sport touring like. <br />
The main problem is wear. On my first set, I managed 3050 miles out of the rear and on the second set, around 2800 miles, after paying a suspension specialist to dial in the settings. <br />
<br />
In comparison to Pirelli Rosso IVs, I would place this ones as slower to turn in, but steadier at lean, with somewhat less squirm while transitioning from upright to lean. Braking is on par, acceleration grip might even be better on S22s then on Rosso IV.

Used one front and two rears. <br />
Downsides: Wear and edge grip when cold. Occasional unexpected loss of traction on white lines, in the dry. <br />
Upsides: Very responsive, very good levels of grip. When warmed up, impressive braking distance. Sidewall flex is very consistent. When the temperature allows, can be pushed to the utmost edge. <br />

Maybe better for something with less torque.

BrilIant tire on a dry summer's day, poor on a cold damp winter morning also easy to step out on rough damp tarmac under acceleration when exiting corners, very pressure sensitive. Keep for the warmer months and they are hard to beat.

I've had big issues with these tires on my Street Triple. They feel amazing in the corners, right up until the moment that they suddenly don't. I've had multiple random slides and losses of traction for no obvious reason that I no longer have confidence in the tires have have changed back to a pair of Road 5s. Although they don't turn in as instantly, they offer me far more consistent performance and more confidence to push the tires than the M9RRs did.

Used on road and 5 track days done about 4,000 kilometres and still plenty left. In comparison to my previous tire, Pirelli Super corsa SP’s which were done by 2,500 kilometres front and 3,500 rear. I am no expert rider so hence I haven’t scored for feedback as I wouldn’t know if it was or not! And only really use in dry weather so no wet grip score.

Clearly a different compound compared to previously bought Cinturato P7.<br />

Insane amount of wear for tires barely 12months in service, decent grip but wet grip drastically drops as it wears. For the price, will not buy again.

Pirelli Dragon Sport — rated 57%

These tires are good tires for daily driving on reasonably smooth roads, but I have found they struggle when pushed on backroads and make above-average noise on highways and course chip country roads. The tires do not have as high a level of grip as the 'Sport' name would suggest, and shouldn't be compared to PS4/RE003 or equivalent tires. Anyone looking at these should think of them as a mild performance tire, with more grip than the average commuter tire, but less than an 'enthusiast' tire. However, at the limit, the tires let go progressively and hold up well to braking. Some slight understeer and chatter can be felt in the rain, but can be driven around.

These shouldn't be marketed as a sports tire. They're a replacement to the P1 Cinturato - a passenger tire.<br />

They're cheap for Pirellis and seem like a good deal for an entry level performance tire. They're not performance focused though. Front end grip is not strong, heavily understeer biased, steering is a little sloppy due to softish sidewalls. At least they're safe dynamically at their low limits. Wet performance fine. <br />

The reality is these should never have been called Dragon Sport - They're most like am entry level touring tire from any of c the major brands - which checks out when you look at the price.<br />
<br />
If you want an entry level performance tire just get RE003 or Michilin Pilot Sport instead. Even tires like the Dunlop FM800, which is similarly priced but marketed more as a Touring tire - has a more sporty handling characteristic than the Dragon Sport.

Rode them half season on 2022 MT09, after second set of stock S22 got worn in 3000 miles.<br />
After the tire specialist said they’ve gotten something new and consulting the Dunlop website, I decided to give them a shot.<br />

Decent grip, especially in the dry, but significantly worse braking performance.<br />
Wear is ok, better than classic hypersport tire, but worse than a full blown sport touring.<br />
<br />
Slow to turn in and numbs the handlebar sensation, increases the force needed to lean.<br />
The tire is heavy and deformable on acceleration.<br />
<br />
Considering the price, it is better than a worn tire, but not great.<br />
Better suited for lower torque or a bit older bike.<br />
<br />
<br />
In the end, might go with a sporty sport touring tire, that is not worse in handling and braking but last longer.

Run these on a KTM 890R - to be honest, they stand up far better on wet weather than you'd think. I've done 2-up, touring, trackdays & fast road miles - I love these tires. Very confidence inspiring & they actually wear pretty well too. I've done 3.8k miles on the pair - rear needs changing desperately as it's bald in the middle, but the front is about half worn. No hesitation to put another M9RR on.
