Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 vs Michelin CrossClimate 3

Bridgestone's Turanza All Season 6 and Michelin's CrossClimate 3 target the same premium touring, year-round slot, but they approach it from opposite ends of the spectrum. Across three shared tests in 225/40 R18, the Bridgestone repeatedly sets the pace in dry and wet braking and handling, while the Michelin leans into winter grip, rolling efficiency, and longevity. That contrast shows up in both stopwatch data and cost-of-ownership metrics.

  • Class-leading dry and wet braking (+5-9% shorter than Michelin across tests)
  • Strong wet handling and aquaplaning resistance (better straight and curved)
  • Engaging, stable handling with high safety reserves in warmer conditions
  • Better purchase value in test comparisons
  • Best-in-test snow performance (braking, traction, handling, circle)
  • Lower rolling resistance for improved efficiency
  • Higher projected mileage and lower abrasion
  • Refined comfort and lower noise levels

Best Review for the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6
Given 90% 225/45 R17 on a combination of roads for 300 average miles
Hi, I've done around 500km on new Turanza, mainly in city. I've got Mondeo mk4 1.6TDCI after chip. I've used previously Vredestein Quatrac Pro. I've have tested so far Bridgestone on the dry and wet in 20-5C. So far they more comfortable than Vredestein Quatrac Pro, noise is around the same (so they rather quiet tires - I've been using 225/50 R17 (not a standard Mondeo mk4, but similiar size (a bit bigger than standard 215/50R17 and smaller than next standard tire 235/45R18))). On dry Bridgestones are more gripper than Vredestein and on wet the are excellent compared to Vredestein. On Quatrac... Continue reading this review using the link below

Best Review for the Michelin CrossClimate 3
Given 92% 205/55 R16 on a combination of roads for 200 average miles
Excellent comfort; low noise, assured handling. I’m a car enthusiast and I always buy premium tires. I follow the various online video tests for tires. Must be a middle-aged thing! Across a range cars I currently own I have various full sets of summer and winter tires (Michelin ecos, Michelin primacys, original crossclimates, continental winter contacts, Goddyear Eagle asymmetric, Dunlop sports, mid-range Falkens……..the list goes on). I’ve just put the crossclimate 3 onto my daily driver and I’m hugely impressed. Firstly these tires felt great as soon as I left the tire fitters. I... Conclusion

If your driving skews toward temperate conditions with frequent rain, the Turanza All Season 6 is the safer, more engaging choice-its consistent leadership in dry and wet braking (often 5-9% shorter) and aquaplaning margins translates directly into day-to-day confidence. It's also the better value buy up front. However, it trails in efficiency and snow confidence.
For mixed or cold climates with regular snow, the CrossClimate 3 earns the nod. It repeatedly tops snow braking, traction, handling, and circle tests, rides quieter and more comfortably, and should last longer while using less fuel thanks to lower rolling resistance. You trade some wet margin for superior winter security and long-term running costs.
Bottom line: pick Bridgestone for rain-soaked commutes and lively feel in mild winters; pick Michelin for real winter capability, refinement, and endurance.
Key Differences
  • Wet safety: Bridgestone stops 8-9% shorter in wet and handles more securely
  • Dry stopping: Bridgestone consistently 4-6% shorter
  • Aquaplaning: Bridgestone leads in straight and curved tests
  • Snow performance: Michelin ahead by 3-13% across snow metrics
  • Efficiency: Michelin's rolling resistance ~9-12% lower
  • Durability/abrasion: Michelin wears less and lasts longer
  • Comfort/noise: Michelin rides quieter and more supple
  • Value price metric: Bridgestone offers better upfront value

Footnote

This page has been developed using tire industry testing best practices. This means we are only comparing tests which have had both tires in the same test.

Why is this important? Tire testing is heavily affected by things like surface grip levels and surface temperature, which means you can only compare values from the same day. During a tire test external condition changes are calculated into the overall results, but it is not possible to calculate this between tire tests performed on different days or at different locations.

As a result you will see other tests on Tire Reviews which feature both the %s and %s, but as they weren't conducted on the same day, the results are not comparable.

Lots of other websites do this sort of tire comparison, Tire Reviews doesn't.
