Data updated
Which should you buy?
Choose the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 if braking and handling are your priorities, while bearing in mind its unusual poor showing on cool wet roads in UTAC's 2025 test. Choose the Bridgestone Turanza 6 if lower rolling resistance and quieter running matter more.
Where the Turanza 6 is stronger
- Bridgestone Turanza 6: lower rolling resistance in all three measured tests
- Bridgestone Turanza 6: quieter in both measured noise comparisons
- Bridgestone Turanza 6: safer wet handling in UTAC's 2025 test
Where the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is stronger
- Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6: shorter dry braking in all four shared tests
- Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6: stronger wet braking and handling in both Auto Bild full tests
- Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6: longer projected wear in Auto Bild's 2023 UHP test
Conclusion
The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 has the stronger overall record, finishing first in Auto Bild's 2023 UHP test and Auto Bild Allrad's 2025 SUV test. Its dry braking was shorter in all four shared tests, although the margin was small in UTAC's 2025 test. In the 2023 UHP and 2025 SUV tests it also braked about 8% and 9% shorter in the wet respectively, with faster wet handling. It resisted straight-line aquaplaning better in all three tests that measured it, though the two tires were nearly level on that measure in the SUV test.
UTAC's 2025 summer and all-season test is the clear exception to that wet-road pattern. The Bridgestone finished fourth to the Goodyear's eleventh and stopped about 4% shorter in the wet. Testers rated its wet handling more highly, describing it as safe and easy to drive. They also noted that its aquaplaning resistance and lateral wet grip were limited. The Goodyear still braked slightly shorter in the dry and resisted straight-line aquaplaning better, but testers reported poor braking on cool wet roads and sudden rear-grip loss in evasive maneuvers. That result sits awkwardly beside its stronger wet performances in the Auto Bild tests and should not be overlooked.
The Turanza 6 makes a consistent case for drivers who favor low rolling resistance and quiet running: it led the Goodyear on rolling resistance in all three measured tests, with a particularly large gap in Auto Bild Allrad's SUV test. It was quieter in both tests with measured noise and earned a higher subjective noise score at UTAC. It also had stronger gravel traction in the SUV test. The Goodyear suits drivers who put more weight on braking and handling, and Auto Bild's 2023 UHP test projected substantially longer wear for it. The Bridgestone suits those prioritising efficiency and refinement, while accepting that the Goodyear usually has the grip advantage.

Wins count every measurement the shared tests recorded for both tires; a tick marks the tire ahead on that line. Subjective driver scores count as wins but are never averaged, because each test uses its own scale.

Each row is one published test in which both tires ran on the same car, in the same size, on the same day. The line is the whole field, winner on the left.

In each test the better of the two figures counts as 100% and the other as its share of it, so a 118 ft stop against 112 ft is 95%; each spoke averages the shared tests that recorded it. The scale stops at 94%: a point further in sits on the hub's edge, hollow. 10 measurements recorded in only one shared test are left off; every measurement is in the table further down.

Braking distances and lap times are better when lower; speeds, wear and grip figures when higher. A test's figures are its own: sizes, cars, surfaces and temperatures differ from one to the next, which is why the averages here are only ever of tests the two tires shared. "Scored" rows are subjective driver ratings: each test uses its own scale, so only the wins are counted.

Bridgestone Turanza 6
- 77%from 73 reviews
- 63%would buy again
- 616,298 milesdriven by reviewers
Owners generally rate the Bridgestone Turanza 6 as a quiet, very comfortable touring tire with strong wet and dry grip, reflected in a 74% average score and around seven in ten positive reviews. Comfort and refinement are the clear headline, with about half of owners mentioning low road noise and a smooth ride, while wet grip is widely praised by those who discuss it. The main drawback is a fairly common complaint about muted or vague steering feel (around one in five owners), and a similar share report issues with wear behavior, including uneven wear and shorter-than-expected life for some.
- Very comfortable ride quality
- Low road noise
- Strong wet grip and confidence in the rain
- Good dry grip
- Vague or heavy steering feel
- Soft sidewalls affecting precision and confidence
- Uneven wear across the tread

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6
- 86%from 229 reviews
- 83%would buy again
- 1,954,005 milesdriven by reviewers
Owners rate the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 highly overall (84.8% average), most consistently praising its strong dry and wet grip, with many also noting reassuring handling. Around half of reviewers who mention it say it's noticeably quieter than what they replaced, and comfort is commonly described as a step up for a UHP tire. Longevity is the main talking point: tread life feedback is genuinely split, with a similar number reporting strong mileage as those seeing faster wear. A smaller but recurring complaint is a softer, less supported feel (and occasional extra noise on coarse surfaces) for drivers wanting a firmer, more precise response.
- Excellent dry grip with lots of confidence
- Very strong wet grip for a summer UHP tire
- Lower road noise than many rivals and OEM fitments
- Comfortable ride for everyday use
- Tread life is inconsistent: some see great mileage, others rapid wear
- Can be noisy on rough or coarse asphalt for a noticeable minority
- Soft sidewall feel can reduce precision and make responses feel less supported

All 229 Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 reviewsFirstly I'd like to correct/add to something I said in a review about the Mich PS4 where I mentioned the Asy 6s didn't seem to be doing much better. It seems the last bit of tread in the Asy 6s last much longer!, going from 3mm @12.6k to 1.7mm (a bit close!) @21k, so they last much longer than the PS4 tires on the rear! (The PS4 tires only lasted 13.2k miles!!).
For a BMW 330d 2010.

Reading the results
Written from the test results and owner reviews above. It is analysis, not a measurement: where it and the tables disagree, the tables are right.
Four independent tests have put the Bridgestone Turanza 6 and Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 side by side: Auto Bild's 2023 UHP summer test and 2023 Summer Tire Market Overview, UTAC's 2025 summer and all-season test, and Auto Bild Allrad's 2025 SUV off-road summer test. The Goodyear finished ahead in three; the Bridgestone finished ahead in UTAC's test.
The Goodyear is the more convincing tire for braking and handling, particularly in the two Auto Bild tests that measured both. The Turanza 6 has a different strength: it recorded lower rolling resistance in every shared test that measured it, and was quieter in the tests that compared noise. UTAC's result needs attention rather than being treated as a small exception. There, the Bridgestone braked better in the wet, while testers found the Goodyear's behavior on cool wet roads unusually poor.

Finishing positions and measurements are transcribed from each published test. A test only counts here when both tires ran in it, so every figure was recorded on the same car, size and day as the one it is compared to.
About the TR Score
The Tire Reviews Score rates each tire out of 10 from every independent test result and vetted owner review we hold, so two tires can be compared even before a test has run them together.
