Fitment comes from each tire's manufactured size list, and the sizes are the ones drivers reported when they reviewed. Check the size, load index and speed rating on your own doorplate before buying - a size a previous owner ran is not always the size your car left the factory on.

Antares GRIP 20 215-50-17 Hyundai i40 sedan 1,000 miles November 18, 2025
Antares “Slip” 20 is a tire you should avoid. Can”t be balanced normally, an oval tire from factory, can be driven “normally” till 80km/h. Quite noisy and feels like a jelly - though works predictable on snow and sludge, doesn”t work on ice at all. In general - waste of your money.

Continental AllSeasonContact 2 215-50-17- Hyundai i40 sedan 2,000 miles March 10, 2025
I've previously used Michelin Cross Climate (in original, + and 2 variants). I've had these Contis for two months and I find them to be quieter and more "controllable" in dry and in wet / greasy conditions, than the Michelins.

The comfort of these Contis, for 215/50/17, is supreme - on par with my wife's Hankook Kinergy 4S; and those are deeper profile, on an AWD crossover.

I heartily recommend these Contis for UK's wet/greasy and dry conditions, all seasons.

Hankook Winter i pike RS2 205-60-16- Hyundai i40 sedan 25,000 miles November 2, 2024
One of my favorite parts of the tire is its side grip. I think it handles good in all conditions and is reliable on unexpected black ice and ice in general.
I haven't measured the rubber tear but I can say that the studs are very firmly attached even after 2-3 years of driving.
This is my 3rd set on 3 different cars :)

Bridgestone Turanza T005 Driveguard 205-60-16-V Hyundai i40 sedan 1,000 miles November 22, 2019
Bought these tires as the Tires (windforce) fitted to the car when purchased used were verging on the dangerous, My initial impression has been incredibly positive, the car is more responsive in both dry and wet conditions with much improved traction and braking road noise is relatively low which was my main concern considering the eu labels 72db claimed noise level, The driveguard technology has also given the added bonus of less tire sidewall deformation which given their 60 profile was a problem on the previously fitted tires. Based on their performance so far I'd recommend them unreservedly.

Hifly HF201 205-60-16-V Hyundai i40 sedan 8,000 miles November 7, 2019
Fitted these tires to my vehicle as I was intending to replace it soon, the Hankook tires that were fitted were coming to the end of their usable life. As I had not intend keeping the car much longer I did not want to spend to much on tires, this was a huge mistake compared to the original fitment tires the Hifly H201's were awful they were compromised in all areas of driving both in the Dry and the Wet, I live in the valleys of south wales where we get more than our fair share of rain if there was anymore than a light shower I lost all confidence the tires were dangerous in wet conditions especially under braking taking considerably more distance to stop than the Hankook I cannot find any redeeming qualities to these tires and although very cheap they are a false economy. Also they appeared to be wearing much quicker.

Nexen N Fera SU1 215-50-17-W Hyundai i40 sedan 7,000 miles April 26, 2019
Tires generally grip better than the Hankooks they replaced, particularly when pulling away in the wet.

However, I would not buy them again due to the quality of the rubber compound. After just 7000 miles (in 10 months) we are having to look at replacing them due to cracking inbetween the tread blocks and degradation of the sidewall.

Michelin CrossClimate+ 225-45-17-W Hyundai i40 sedan 1,000 miles October 20, 2018
Jon, thanks for the "London to Switzerland" video review. Having driven years on Goodyear's F1 Asymmetric range and Conti's Sport Contact range, I was sceptical of an all seasons tire. I was wrong. For M-way, fast A-road and a mix of minor roads, Michelin CrossClimate+ proved to be sure footed, responsive and surprisingly quiet and comfy. Recommended.

Huyundi i40 saloon,as previous reviews say these tire are not so good in the wet weather esp when starting off from roundabouts and jct etc, loss of traction and wheel spin due to no grip, done 29,000 miles on the front since new and still about 5,000 left before renewal, very high mileage tire.

Where this data comes from

Every rating on this page was submitted by a driver through the review form on this site, naming the car, the tire, the size and the distance covered. Reviews are checked by hand before publication, and the page rebuilds automatically as new ones arrive.

About the TR Score

The Tire Reviews Score rates each tire out of 10 using independent test results and the full body of owner reviews, so you can check a car-specific ranking against the wider evidence.

Who does the testing

Every test published as a Tire Reviews test is run by Jonathan Benson, who has been testing tires independently since 2007.
