BMW M5 Tire Review Highlights
Writing about the Falken Azenis RS820 given 85% (265-40-19)
I got these and the 295/35/19 size for my F10 M5.

I was curious to see how £700 for a full set of tires compares the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s and Continental Sport Contact 7 which are double the price for a full set.

The Michelins were good but the sidewall is ugly, as is the rim protector design. They also lacked turn in feel.

The continentals were epic in almost every way, especially in the wet.

Comparatively I’d say the RS820 is only 10% behind the Michelins and maybe 15-20% behind the Continentals when you’re really pushing it.

I’m well aware of my limits and don’t track my car so if these Falken RS820’s wear sensibly, I’ll fit another set.
They behave predictably and don’t suddenly lose traction, they are also reasonably responsive in the cold spring mornings we are having.
They also have a nice minimalist side wall design, although I’m not a fan of the font used for the tire size.

One thing to note is that the RS820 did take more weights to balance than the other two brands I’ve mentioned. But there isn’t any vibration at autobahn speeds.

Avoid these tires like the plague if you ever drive in even a little bit of snow. Dry handling very good although a little noisy. Wet breaking good. Wet handling OK. Have not hydroplaned yet but they are new. However, in the snow even a little bit. They are absolutely worthless. I’m very used to driving in the snow. I’m Canadian. These tires are just dangerous. I live in North Carolina now I would never buy these tires again.

Very good tires in terms of steering feeling, much better grip on dry roads than standard PZero. On wet surfaces the grip is also very good but once you reach the limit the reaction are pretty fast, so you need to react fast. Also very capable tire for an occasional trackday. I would place this tire between a Uhp and a semi-slick. A little bit noisy but less than a Bridgestone Potenza Sport.

Running them on my F90 M5C I have much better steering feel and less under steer on track days. On mountain roads there isn’t much difference to the PS4S or PZ4 I had on before as you can really push the car on public roads, but on the track the grip and feel was amazing

If you're thinking of buying some high performance summer tires just stop looking and buy these, iv had them on my last 3 cars (w204 c63, F80 M3 and now F10 M5) and wouldn't change them for anything. Been 190+ on the autobahn (no drama what so ever!) and even a few laps on the ring, nearly 8000 miles later and i still have 6mm tread, that's on a 700bhp M5!
I LOVE THEM!

Tremendous winter tire. Been driving in deep snow, ice, and they just grip for days.

This tires are good, just you have to consider the weight of vehicle. I had them on 5th series of BMW and they work well in any weather conditions. I would not put them for SUV. Actually any wide high speed tires doesn't like a vertical clearances. that time they loose grip.
