As others have said. These tires are MURDEROUS in the wet, I've had so many near misses with these. O the other hand I have not found them noisy or anything less than adequate in the dry, and I have had 70000 Ks out of them and only a bad alignment is causing me to replace them. I reckon that 100000 Ks might be possible with these tires they show so little wear. But the main point to reiterate is they are TERRIBLE in the wet. If you can afford something better then you must buy it. CAR: Ford Falcon BA Mk1

My size is 235/45/17. Car weight: 1650kg. Rear wheel drive. Very good value for money tire. Lasted 65000 KM. Still not reached the TWI. The inside of the tires were wearing more due to my car's setup, so I had to replace them. During the last 10000km, the tires became slippery in the wet.

I drive a taxi full-time at night. I had read about these tires in a magazine called Wheels, which is published here in Australia. If you Google search then you'll find the review on the CarPoint.com.au web site.

My taxi had a dry weight of around 1,7000kg. Summers here are long and dry, so when it does start raining the roads get extremely slippery due to the oil build-up from the dry months.

I was extremely impressed with the traction that I got in wet conditions with these tires. I went through two complete sets from June 2010 until February 2011 and would love to continue using them. I was using 235/45R17 97W tires, so maybe the higher load rating made a difference.

Unfortunately, they are not available in a suitable 18" size that will fit the rims that I am about to start using, so now I have to find another option. I would stick with the Alpha tires if they had a suitable size.

I have spent years riding and racing motorbikes, so I'm well familiar with throwing a vehicle around. I used to push my taxi extremely hard on certain roads with these tires and never lost control.

I don't know why there are so many negative reviews of these tires. Maybe there was some change in the manufacturing process? Don't know... just wish they were available in a 235/40ZR18 size so that I could stick with them. At this stage I'll be trying out some Neuton NT5000 tires (which are made by the same company).

These tires are absoulte rubbish and quite dangerous in the wet, having very little ability to get rid of water.
Also have no "bite" an grass or other smooth surfaces.
They feel like they are made of concrete with poor ride quality and constant flat spotting when left standing.
I now have to throw these tires away as they are only 20% worn, but my life is worth more than these tires.
Spend a bit more and get some decent tires!

Very happy with tires, got 100000km and good responsivness when needed. Found to be quiet compared to previous dunlop tires on same car.

Being OEM on my new Australian Ford Falcon, I had no choice of brands. I am happy with the tires. They are good in the wet and dry. Providess a quiet and comfortable ride and have saved me in a couple of tight spots.

I am not happy with the rapid 'shoulder wear'. Despite religiously following the car manufacturer's recommended 32PSI inflation (for light passenger loads, as I travel alone mostly); and have always had 15,000 km wheel rotations and alignments when necessary. Currently, I need to replace all four tires at 58,000kms. The shoulders are nearly worn down, while the inside tread still have approximately 4mm remaining.

Thinking about replacing with the same tires but I am wondering if there are other brands with a better in price/performance. My 225/50/R17s are not a common size and they are expensive to replace. Have been recommended GY Excellence 235/45/R17s for economy and better performance. Any feedback on these 235/45/R17s is appreciated.
