Kumho Solus 4S HA32
WatchThe Kumho Solus 4S HA32 is a mid-range touring all-season tire that leans heavily on comfort, value and winter-friendly security. In day-to-day use it's often praised for a quiet, smooth ride and reassuring straight-line wet braking, with many drivers also reporting capable traction in snow and cold conditions. Where it divides opinion is in heavier rain and more demanding cornering, where wet lateral grip and aquaplaning resistance can feel a step behind the best all-season rivals.

Review Summary
Based on 28 user reviews
Drivers generally describe the Kumho Solus 4S HA32 as a good-value all-weather tire with noticeably improved comfort and lower road noise versus budget or older sets, plus predictable handling for everyday driving. Many higher-scoring reviews praise confident wet grip and capable performance in snow, with several reporting solid tread life for the price. However, a meaningful minority report weak wet lateral grip/aquaplaning and inconsistent stability, and multiple users mention noise/vibration issues. Some longer-term owners also report tread chipping/peeling, which detracts from durability confidence.

An even split of day to day runnings, moterway and b road blasts give me a good idea of what they’re capable of.
Dynamics of the car are stable and consistent, surprisingly communicative and you feel what they’re doing very well. In hotter weather when pushing on you can feel the tread through the steering getting pushed about so not the best but that’s really faster than you want to be going anyway. Expected for an all weather tire.
Driven in snow to and they do fantastic, very grippy and the wet performance is fantastic. Compared to my previous summer tires these are miles above with hydroplaning as well.
Overall would get again and couldn’t recommend more especially for the price.

So far absolutely no complaints in about 3000 miles.
Definitely consider buying these for the rears when they wear out.
First things first. From the beginning I had some vibration problems. Especially at speeds around 60 km/h I experienced a wobble in the steering. I moved the front tires to the rear vise versa, that was a bit better but the vibration was irritating. Recently I went to a tire shop for road force balancing my rears. The force was very high, but after rotating the tires on the rims most of the vibration has gone. I’ve never had this issue with any other types of tires.
Another thing I dislike very much are the grip levels. Especially in the lateral direction on a wet road it is quite bad. But also in a longitudinal direction. One time I had to do an emergency stop, and I really was shocked about the braking distance necessary.
Grip levels in dry conditions are okayish. Same in winter conditions with some snow.
Stability straight ahead could be better. Many little steering corrections are necessary all the time. This is a bit tiring.
The comfort level is good, the tires don’t produce a lot of noise. Wear also seems to be okay.
They are cheap, but I would not buy them again.

Got 30k miles out of the fronts which is approx 10k more than the Michelin or Bridgestones I have used before
Dry and wet weather not as good as market leaders but at £50 per corner cheaper I didn’t expect them to be as good
I have just fitted a second set at value for money these are by far the best and were far more predictable towards the end of their life than others I’ve tried
Snow and off road they performed just as well as market leaders
Overall very impressed
In the winter however, lower than hoped traction in ice, along with a perceived higher wear rate, let these tires down a little. Mind I'd still be happy to recommend them overall.
Bought a Peugeot Partner Teepee with 3 cheap/mid-range tires & 1 old Michelin (with cracking Sidewall ). On inspection, there were deep cracks running along the tread grooves on one of the cheap tires, so it was clear that this had to be replaced along with the Michelin.
I decided to stick the two new tires on the back to preserve their life, and run down the two old tires on the front.
Did a lot of driving around UK and a two thousand mile road trip to Europe - tires performed faultlessly up to 150km/h on German Autobahn, and in temperatures up to 38.
Ride is a bit bouncy (it's a French car!), and there's a bit of booming from the rear, but this is probably down to a van-derived design & lack of sound-proofing in rear. Handling is spot on, it's well controlled on bends & roundabouts, and the rear is always well placed. Wet performance is reliable, having driven at speed along country lanes in pouring rain, without any problems, though had a few aqua-planing incidents on Motorway in very heavy rain recently - on inspection this was due to one of the front tires being worn close to the limit.
Highly recommended, will be fitting two more Kumhos on the front this year.
