Driven 23k since new and still with over 3mm tread. Mainly motorway driving on my mondeo. Do seem to squirm under heavy breaking.

The tires perform well in wet and dry Summer conditions. Winter use on hardpacked snow is adequate but the tires are unsuitable for use in soft snow where grip is minimal.

I have an 09 VW Passat 2.0 TDi saloon and have 10k on the clock. Am presently looking for new tires for the front as now on wear bars and don't have that comfort feeling anymore in both wet and dry. Tire noise is terrible and driving me crazy! Not sure what to get next but as long as its quieter, longer lasting and gives me good wet and dry grip then I'll take it! Would not buy RE050A's again!

Had these on the back of my car for a while, then changed them to the front, the increase in noise from the front was unreal, so noisy, especially when going round fast corners. Done 6000 on them and they have only dropped 1mm in tread, I noticed the improved grip straight away and they are really grippy even in wet conditions. Not sure if i'd buy again though

I'm not pleased with the tire. At first the grip was satisfactory, not anything special but ok. Then as the tires wore off it got tragic. Turning in the limits of the car was impossible. I had oversteer, understeer, and there was no trust in the tire. Furthermore, i had to travel for over 100 km in order for the tire to warm up. Now i can't even start the car in the first gear with more than 2000 rpm and it spins. sometimes starting with the second gear and it spins....I now have 25000km and i am considering my options

Standard fitnemt to most BMW's from factory and do not let down they dry grip is up there with Michellin PS2 and they are not that far off in terms of wet grip too. Very progressive on the limits and wear rate is not bad for a low profile tire would buy these again.

Having tried the original fitment of Continental Sport Contact M3s, and Michelin PS2s, I decided to try Bridgestone RE050As as I have previously been very impressed with the RE040s on an Audi TT, Mazda RX8 and BMW328i. The characteristic of the RE040s that I particularly liked was their impressive turning; way better than the Michelin Pilot Sports that I'd also tried on the Audi and BMW. I was not disappointed. The RE050As have a little less grip than the Michelin PS2s in a straight line, although a good deal more that the Continentals. Turn-in is best on the Bridgestone, being worst on the Michelins. Cornering is very predictable so you always know what will happen when you turn the wheel; something that the Michelin was very, very poor on. The rears look like they'll last the ~14K I got from the Michelins and Continentals, but the front's are looking like they'll be good for well over 20K at the rate they're going. They've developed a slight step, but I put that down to heavy braking, and handling seems unaffected.

My car had RE040 from new they originally did 18k and i ran them down to 1.6mm and below i did not want to replace them then as in the wet the grip was awesome but along came the RE050A. I would say they are just as good good dry & wet conditions wear not bad as over the years i tend to give my car more stick as it has been lowered and brake upgrade plus being chipped (no i'm not a chav) my car looks standard apart from being lowered. Back to the tires i can not fault them but bearing in mind my car is a quattro so i don't know how they would perform on a front wheel or rear wheel drive car as these tires were the manufactures original choice (well RE040's were).

these tires came on my new merc, im by no means a boy racer but i dont hang-about, they have great grip in wet and dry considering they are hard wearing covering 16k miles, but are totally useless in freezing/frost/snow conditions unless you enjoy doing 360 spins in corners at 10mph.

These have been an excellent tire and im quite surprised that they have a treadwear index of 140 as I thought they would only last probably 15k.
They have lasted 23k but on the outer shoulders of the tire they are down to 2mm in some places but on the inners they still have 5mm this is consistent with both front tires. I inflate them upto the recommended 32psi and always keep an eye on pressure. I can only assume its a tracking issue however im still pleased to the mileage out of them.
Overall an excellent tire solid sidewalls and the tire looks good on a 18 inch RS6 rim, dry grip is as good as the Michellin PS2 and wet grip is good too.
