I am a massive Goodyear fan. I had the Assym 3's on a previous car and never looked back.

I have now had the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5's, Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersports, Michelin PS4 and even some Avon's (for a brief period) on my current car - a Golf GTI Clubsport 40.

I mix up my driving a lot - lots of motorway driving but also lots of hard street driving and B road blasts, I find it massively important to have the best tires possible to allow me to push my car as hard as I can in a safe manner.

Given 73% 215/45 R18 W on a combination of roads for 19,000 spirited miles
Fitted a set of these to my Mazda3 Sport Nav. I’ve always been a fan of Hankook tires but have had various on different cars, Michelin to Budget.

First thing you notice with these tires is just how much they improve the ride. The car had stock Dunlop Sport Maxx TT tires and whilst these gave a sharper steering feel you felt every little ripple in the road. The Hankooks certainly smoothed things out, with only a small trade off in steering feel. Next is the grip. In conclusion the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 was better in dry braking, dry handling [s], dry handling [km/h], subj. dry handling, subj. fun, wet braking - worn, wet handling [s], wet handling [km/h], subj. wet handling, wet circle, straight aqua, curved aquaplaning, subj. comfort, noise, wear, value, rolling resistance and abrasion tests, whereas the Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 was better in wet braking, wet braking - cool, noise and price tests.

Which tire is best for you depends a lot on your driving style and situation, plus what you want from the tire, but comparing all the data in the tire reviews database, on balance the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 seems to be the best tire overall.
