Fitment comes from each tire's manufactured size list, and the sizes are the ones drivers reported when they reviewed. Check the size, load index and speed rating on your own doorplate before buying - a size a previous owner ran is not always the size your car left the factory on.

A large upgrade on my city car compared to the budget tires I was running before. These have heaps of more sophisticated looking tread and give an amount of feedback towards the limit unlike the budget tires which began to understeer without warning. They are also noticeably more quiet. I hope they continue to wear well, although in the budget segment in this small size on a light car, longevity is typically given but needn't worry if they need replacing in 24/36 months.

Got these tires on a used car mostly for driving around town, they were 5 years old with no visible wear. On dry roads it had okayish grip .Absolutely horrible in wet, on anything but asphalt road, you can expect ABS triggering when braking little bit harder or understeer when turning into a harder corner. Had them on the car for the few months in late summer, early autumn. Got rid of them happily in favor of winter tires (Hankook winter i*cept RS2) which felt much better. Maybe on a heavier car wet grip could be little bit better, but it would probably still be quite bad.

Had this tire on two small cars both 14 inches radius, but different widths, mostly for driving around town in central/southeast Europe with quite some rainy days, there were also some highway stints with no observed drawbacks. Decent dry and wet grip for winter tires at lower speeds. Snow grip was better than expected and you can feel confident in the grip for everyday driving. Did not notice a lot of difference between summer and this tire regarding noise in the cabin.

Running these on a peugeot 107. I've had kumhos on larger cars before. For my daily commuter, I thought for the price I'd give the all seasons a go to avoid a second set of winter wheels again. Over the last month the snow has been heavy, over taking slow struggling cars has a breeze. They do feel soft when warm, but the cold weather and wet grip makes up for the warm short fall. The aggressive pattern does cause a slightly higher than normal road noise at 70mph. When these wear out, I'll be buying another set. For the price on a small car, I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Firestone Winterhawk 3 155-65-14- Peugeot 107 9,000 miles January 12, 2017
In my opinion Firestone Winterhawk 3 is at most an average performance tire. Maybe this should be correlated with my car tire size (155/65 R14)...
In dry conditions it is a fair tire, though it has a pronounced understeering tendency. The wet grip is acceptable if you don't need to brake suddenly :), and the snow/ice grip is poor.

Positive:
- Comfortable tires
- Low rolling resistance
- Low wear

Negative:
- Wet grip.
- Poor snow and ice grip.
- Understeering behavior.

Next time I will not buy these tires again.

Bought two of these when I was absolutely desperate to replace two bald tires on limited money about 3 years ago. The car doesn't do much mileage and the girlfriend uses the car more than me. Over the course of this week I have driven the car and the weather has been really wet or really hot, and I have never driven a car with tires as bad as these. So much so I've told the girlfriend she can't drive the car in the wet. They are that bad.

To give you an idea how bad they are, the car will wheel spin on the flat when at the lights, and if you're going around the corner at a normal speed the car will go straight on. It's like driving a car with bald lego tires on an ice rink.

I've checked the tread and the wear is near enough new. Honestly, if you value your life or that of a family member who will be in that car, don't buy these. It isn't worth it.

Take a good 200 miles or so to scrub in but once they have you get a good responsive tire which is very quiet running and smooth. Only downside is the tires have a slight bias to steer the car to the left. Even with tracking checked was told it will reduce as the tires wear to the car. All in all a very good quality tire made by Continental (all of the sidewall lettering is the same as my previous conti ecos) and excellent value at around £20 less then my previous contis per tire.

Every rating on this page was submitted by a driver through the review form on this site, naming the car, the tire, the size and the distance covered. Reviews are checked by hand before publication, and the page rebuilds automatically as new ones arrive.

About the TR Score

The Tire Reviews Score rates each tire out of 10 using independent test results and the full body of owner reviews, so you can check a car-specific ranking against the wider evidence.

Who does the testing

Every test published as a Tire Reviews test is run by Jonathan Benson, who has been testing tires independently since 2007.
